Thanks for your help, first of all.

I corrected the file ( I took that from the wiki page as a newbie)

It still does not show a picture. Here is the output of xrandr --props | pastebinit

that's not the output of 'xrandr --props| pastebinit' - the output is a URL

not sure why it's not detected as connected -- assume you'd tried more than one cable, and that you're powering on the ChromeBox after the projector? If so, might need to ping the OE devs on IRC chat to see if any of them have a better idea how to troubleshoot

I chose the fast dual boot option and have been happy with the convenience. Now I'd like to change to the slow (30s) dual boot option so I can run ChromeOS; my keyboard (Logitech K400) boots up too slowly to recognize Ctrl-D before it enters Kodi. Would I have to revert to factory default and start from the beginning, i.e. exit developer mode, and re-enter it?

Thanks!

Use a different keyboard to boot ChromeOS via CTRL-D, then run the script to change the boot delay -- that's pretty much your only option. A factory reset won't reset the portion of the firmware where the boot flags are set.

I did try a different cable.

So I hooked up the chromebox through my Onkyo 609 receiver and it works fine. Does that help figure out why it doesnt work directly?

Thanks

not really. did you select the headless firmware option when you flashed it?

Re typing this, as my earlier post seems to have fallen off this thread...Asus Chromebox is losing connection to my WD MyBookLiveDuo NAS, after boot booting Kodi tries to scan my two shares on that drive to update media, shows 0%...preparing, but nothing progresses. When I try to access any media on that drive, it shows loading but never does. I've had to wipe/re-add my shares to fix it, getting frustrating. My attached external drive on the same IP works fine, as does my other network drive w/ music on it. I have restarted my whole network (modem, router, switches, Asus & PC) Any ideas on what to look for?

Hi

I' ve successfully installed Plex as a standalone OS. However if I would like to install Openelec as a standalone, what is the proper way of doing so?

Do I need to perform a factory reset?

Doesn't sound like a specifically chromebox problem. I suggest you start a new thread.

since we don't know what steps you took to install plex, hard to say definitively, but if you flashed my custom firmware then all you need to do is install OpenELEC from USB, as you would on any other PC.

Matt: Yes I used your custom firmware. So I just create a USB-installstick for Openelec per their guide?

How do I access some sort of boot menu to get it to boot from the USB first, some sort of key-combination at the keyboard when it boots?

follow the instructions on the OE site to create the install media for the disk image version (generic x86_64, beta 5.95.3). power on the ChromeBox with the USB install media connected, hit ESC when prompted to show the boot menu and select the USB device.
