Your kernel panic looks like the 4.2 kernel bug I had. The only fix is to use a different kernel-- 4.3 works fine. Or you can revert to 3.19 from Ubuntu 15.04, but it sounds like you're a fresh install so you don't have that option.

So either install 15.04 and then immediately upgrade to 15.10 or focus on getting OpenELEC working. I suggest the latter, unless you're an experienced linux user.

ChromeBOX2 success in dualboot - fishypops - 2015-11-08

So I bought the ChromeBOX2 - Asus CN62.This is my first attempt at openelec. It was painless enough (a few loops and retries - ignorance on my part).
Unless I come across a significant reason to move from dualboot to standalone, then I am good.

I have one question though, when I boot to Openelec (by selecting Ctrl L at the start screen), and Kodi loads... I have been hoping that I would be able to Ctrl-Alt-F2 (toggle) to Chrome. All I get is a black screen.

Is this working as designed, or is there a way to effect the toggle between Kodi and Chrome ?

Is there anything that I can do to fix this? I've tried to do the factory reset step again and it loads it, but brings me right back the white screen when I hold reset button down. Otherwise I go straight into the load screen and then it black screens again.

yes, boot ChromeOS via CTRL-D on the white dev mode boot screen (before the black legacy boot screen). run the script, set boot options back to default. then resume the dual boot setup from the point of factory reset.

I have kodivinity running on an acre net top already, I am just trying to set up a couple of chromeboxes for other rooms in the house, one of wich would be very convenient to be wireless

OpenELEC = Kodi appliance with bare metal linux underneath; Kodibuntu = full Linux desktop that boots into Kodi. I recommend the former for most users.

I haven't tested the dual boot Ubuntu stuff in forever, but as mentioned above it's a known issue with the default kernel shipped with Ubuntu 15.10. You can boot using the 'acpi=off' kernel boot flag and then upgrade the kernel to fix.

it's working as designed - you boot one OS or the other, the two cannot run simultaneously. As with most linux, CTRL-ALT-F2 switches you to a secondary terminal, but OE doesn't have that set up. CTRL-ALT-F7 should get you back to the main display.

note that I don't have a standalone firmware yet for the Broadwell-based Asus CN62 ChromeBox, so you're stuck with dual boot for now. (well, I do have a firmware built,it's just untested and I don't want to brick anyone's box)

Good point, booting with acpi=off allows you to avoid installing 15.04 just to upgrade it.

Hey Matt. Been awhile since I've been on here. Quick question. The openelec I'm running on my chrome box is 4.2.1. How do I upgrade to 6.0? I've always had it set to auto updates but I guess it stopped doing it somewhere along the way

Major version updates (4.x to 5.x, 5.x to 6.x) aren't automatic because there's a non-trivial chance of things not working perfectly after the upgrade. What I recommend is to back up your existing config (via the OE settings addon), do a manual upgrade, and if there's any issues just do a soft reset and rebuild from scratch. See the ChromeBox wiki section on OpenELEC updates for instructions / file download link.

No (!) and no (!) and no(!) - never do this on modern hardware!

Hello,
i have 2 question:
1) i'm not able to use ArgusTV (with a remote server); i try also mapping unit with file manager and adding the remote source; but plugin still continue to access as a "guest" missing username and password specified in configuration (check also xml file).
I know this because on i check the windows log.
2) there is a way to use netflix streaming with openelec?

Thanks to all

neither of your questions have anything to do with the Chromebox or my setup script; they are addon issues and are best discussed in the addon support forums.
