Thanks, but you told me I can't downgrade firmware, that you have to first modify it.

I think something between these 2 firmware versions is causing the Handshake issue because I had 2015-12-14 or 2015-12-15 working fine, then I upgraded to 2016-01-03 and problem started.

My TV is a standard Sony Bravia.

I'll make a custom one for you with the older VBIOS and we can see if that helps. I'll PM you with the link when ready

6.94.2. I'll probably post 6.95.3 later tonight with Kodi 16.1-rc2.

Thanks Matt.
I almost forget, I would also like to report something that happened to me few days ago in case it happens to other users.

I have windows installed in ssd and wanted to give the latest OpenElec EGL version a try so I did the process to install to a micro sdcard inserted to a sdcard adapter in chromebox's sdcard slot. It installed fine and started setting things up, then suddenly screen got black and I had to force reboot, after that the micro sdcard wasn't recognized neither at boot or Windows so I though the sdcard got corrupted.
I booted Parted Magic off a USB flash drive to see if I could fix the thing but the sdcard wasn't recognized there eather.
Next thing I did was to try other sdcards but non were recognized, I googled about it and started thinking it was a hardware problem, that the sdcard slot controller got fried so as a last resort I decided to open the box and check, I removed the sdcard module (it seemed fine to me and didn't smell burnt) off the Motherboard, cleaned the fan and dust I could find. Placed everything back together, turned the box ON and inserted sdcard, this time it was recognized.. Finally! tested other micro sdcard and all were recognized.

I don't know what caused this but thankfully I could fix it. Very odd indeed.

sounds like the SD card reader got into a bad state and didn't reset until you pulled the power.

also, YGPM with a link for firmware update to try

couldn't tell just by looking at the ascii hex.

I'm not sure what this means, can you post a screenshot or something?

I would recommend updating the Chromebox firmware and choosing the headless option, which will prevent it from hanging at boot without a proper handshake. Then force-load the EDID as per the link I provided. I had to do this for a customer, and wrote those wiki instructions myself so I know they work ;-)

Just followed the link and now cant getanything up been trying for 1 hour. Is there a way to reverse it

boot a live linux USB, mount the OE partitions if needed, and undo what you did. Or, boot the live USB and try grabbing the EDID again, since that seems to be the issue
