Install on dedicated server? - epicbobman - 2014-05-18

Hi everyone! This may be the most stupid question ever but can I install XBMC on a Ubuntu Server (via ssh) then have my XBMC clients look there kinda like plex can? I am a plex convert and not sure if I can do this. If I can can anyone link a tutorial?

Yes, more or less but it is tricky to run xbmc completely without gui and I dont think there is many advantages.
Standard xbmc will not even start without graphical drivers.

Instead you could run multiple xbmc on the same db stored on the server.

Would that mean all my plug in and media are synced? Can I get a how to link?

Why would you want xbmc on the server? Simply serve the files via smb or nfs and install XBMC on the devices you watch on.

Bonus for 10 - install mysql on the server and share the database to all the clients.
