My YouTube account was already linked to my gmail account. Thanks for the info about Tvheadend - I'll follow that up later.

The other add-ons have been uninstalled, and the problem stlll persists. Would you mind taking a look at a new log? https://db.tt/hLaOmKfZ Thanks

You have to do something with YouTube and after that upload the log...now I see nothing YouTube related Big Grin

I did. The same things as before. I'll try again.

The addon has been painfully slow for me. It takes me about 7 minutes to load "Popular now".

Searching for, and playing, videos on YouTube works OK.

Clicking "Popular right now" or Subscriptions" now gives the following error:

Quote:Exception in ContentProvider
Unknown kind"

I've tried signing-out, but that gives an error message in the top-left of Kodi

Quote:YouTube
Login Failed

I've tried uninstalling the add-on but it won't let me, saying that it is used by some other add-ons and "This add-on cannot be uninstalled". The same when I try to disable it.

Any idea what I did that screwed up the use of the YouTube addon? I use it a lot, and am missing being able to see my search history and my subscriptions.

i had the exact same problem. i updated to the latest version and it did not help. it seems to have "broken" after i updated to the latest Isengard beta 2. to fix it i had to delete the settings.xml file located in Kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.youtube

after deleting the file i was then able to log out. i had to re-authorize and everything was fine after.

What kind of internet connection do you have? The information I need over the internet for the addon to work properly are taking ages?! Can you try to disable "Channel Fanart" in the addon settings. This will not boost much, because I have to gather additional information for the videos (thanks Google/YouTube for their shitty API Smile ) But mostly the Internet requests Sad Maybe some routing is wrong or the YouTube server was slow for a moment.

Have you also tried the suggestion of SnakeEyes? The error make no sense. it would mean you aren't getting any data.

Yes bromix, and thank you very much SnakeEyes. After deleting that file, and signing in (with the 2 step activation) almost everything is back to normal - I have my history, my channel, subscriptions etc all working as before. However when selecting "Popular right now" it returns the same error message:

Quote:Exception in ContentProvider
Unknown kind "

Unlike SnakeEyes I haven't changed Kodi version at all recently - I'm still using 14.2 (OpenELEC 5.0.8) - in case that helps diagnosis. SnakeEyes does clicking "Popular right now" work for you?

I'm having issues with the playlists. When I try to open the playlists, I get a popup error - "Youtube Channel not found."

I am noticing this issue on multiple devices.

Thanks in advanced for the help, and for the work on this plugin!

Did you sign out and sign in again? I had to change the API key some time back. It's possible you have an old user token. Also try to delete the user_data addon folder for YouTube, so no old data could be the cause of this problem.

I haven't signed out and back in. One of the devices that I'm noticing the issue on was just set up about 4 days ago. I'll try those 2 things and let you know what happens.

false alarm. I had authenticated with the wrong account that does not have a youtube channel associated with it. This caused the earlier error, and I just found the missing/unsupported link on the first post that explains the issue with liked/saved playlists.

Thanks again Bromix!

RE: YouTube v5.X.X - KODI 14.X Helix - dkplayaclub - 2015-07-02

I'd like to request one small change in the addon. When "Search History Size" is set to zero, can the addon simply bring up the keyboard rather than to go to the (empty) search history and then bring up the keyboard? The way it works now causes a few problems, the most annoying being that if you then back up from search results it goes to the history and then automatically brings up the keyboard again. It's actually pretty annoying.

RE: YouTube v5.X.X - KODI 14.X Helix - WitekPL - 2015-07-03

Hi,

I have strange issue with YouTube plugin v. 5.1.6 and Kodi Helix.

I'm running Kodi from Xbian 1.0 (kernel 3.18..8+) on Raspberry Pi 2.

So, the problem is that my screen size when playing videos from YouTube is higher than my TV (like it does not include my callibration in Kodi Settings). Everything on screen goes beyond the screen (even menu when I hit <Enter>).

Is it problem with Kodi or YouTube addon? I do not have same problems with other addons (Like 1channel or something)

How can I fix that?

P.S. I have tried different video resolution

//Edit:

Well, I have managed to fix that by settings of my TV (Native screen size), but it's still a problem with YouTube app

RE: YouTube v5.X.X - KODI 14.X Helix - bluethor - 2015-07-03

My wife was wondering if the "next page" selection could be at both the top and bottom of every list screen that it shows up. For instance, when looking through saved playlists.

I look into it - I'm currently updating my framework (streamlining and optimizing some things).

The Addon has nothing to do with the playback in this case...and please uninstall you mentioned banned add-ons (wiki) - so further support from me.

This would result in redundant UX and also the problem would exists vice versa.

RE: YouTube v5.X.X - KODI 14.X Helix - Alotaibi - 2015-07-04

I have problem with none latin word type direction
for example for arabic the writting direction from right to left so when I write somethong in arabic letter the final word will be reverse
if I want to write "Kodi" in arabic I will get "idok"

any fix for that
