yeah it's dead

The best way to use these players until kodi shapes up is Mizuu as jukebox and MX player Pro as playback engine.
If I'm allowed to put a reference point for future kodi development.

This is not the right forum to talk about it

SPMC 13.3.3 for Android have been released and it includes HEVC / H.265 hardware video decode for media players that uses MediaCodec API and libstagefright, which should include those based on Rockchip RK3288 SoC

SPMC in an unofficial fork of XBMC available on Google Play Store and Amazon AppStore, and it is known for having experimental tweaks for Rockchips hardware before they make it upstream into mainline XBMC http://kodi.wiki/view/SPMC

I have tried two models of RK3288: Measy B4S and CS928. Both are having almost the same problems:
1- Audio problems with some sound systems
2- passthrough does not work at all
3- various network problems.

Does any one have a solution for the audio passthrough problem?

Yes, there's a solution a few pages back: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?pid=1820282#pid1820282
It does however require a patched libmedia.so and a patched Kodi build.

I am using it right now and while it's not perfect, it's functional for all my purposes which is 5.1 sound, DTS and DD over S/PDIF.
HDMI pass-through supposedly works too, but I haven't tested that.

Latest RK3288 patched libmedia.so for passthrough on Beelink devices
http://www.freaktab.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8602&d=1414698642
and for RK3288 Nagrace HPH
http://www.freaktab.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8573&d=1414436371

The previous patch wasn't fully compatible with RK3288 but more with RK3188 devices.

Follow steps on post #420
The download link for patched Kodi doesn't work anymore, hope everyone downloaded it.
Asked for new Kodi to be compiled, hope someone does it.

Edit: Here is Kodi beta 1 Pass Through

I have already done the libmedia.so patching yesterday; but I could not find the patched Kodi. As you said the link does not work any more.

I've uploaded a copy of the patched kodi.apk and libmedia.so that I'm currently using on my MK902II here: http://k-dev.net/rk3288/
It's a simple rehost and no warranties, use at your own risk, etc.

If it's against forum rules or something, let me know and I'll take it down again.

Hello,

After massive testing with multiple versions of Kodi and libmedia.so, I have found that there is a massive compatibility issue between RK3288 and my Yamaha amp. I have another Onkyo amp which worked fine with RK3288 after patching libmedia.so. The passthrough seems working fine with Onkyo; but still no DTS-HD-MA yet.

Any idea what could be wrong between RK3288 and Yamaha amp.

It might be helpful if you specify the exact Yamaha model number, or at least its capabilities.
For what it's worth, above patches works fine with my Onkyo amplifier as well.

And yes, there's no DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD support yet. I believe Android Lollipop is required for that, but I'm not entirely sure why, since it should just be a pass-through too.

Yamaha HTR-3064 which i have been using with many types of hardware for Kodi: Raspeberry, Intel NUC, AMD Fusion and Amazon FireTv. It is a 5.1 system and supports most of the audio formats including DTS-HD-MA:

No Android Lollipop is NOT required for DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD, because the VidOn AV200 and MeLE M9/A1000G has DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD many mounts now with XBMC and
Android 4.2.2.
