It looks like the RK3299 only supports 10/100 ethernet and is based on the ARM Cortex-A7 processor with ARM Mali-400MP2.
This would mean it would be a BIG DOWNGRADE to purchase a RK3299 if you had the RK3288... Maybe even a downgrade of the very old RK3188 if im not mistaken?? Looks like RockChip is trying to target the low end market with this chip... Probably like what Amlogic done with the S805, which was very successful for them.
Though the new RK3399 seems to be very powerful 64bit and an upgrade. But I wouldn't jump on it fast, as you know, RK products need to be purchased atleast 1 year later after they have been released, if you want a stable product. I would stick to RK3288 for atleast another year.

As far as I know, the Hi10P claim has never been confirmed. It would need to be tested with some other software, though, because Kodi always uses software decoding for Hi10P, IIRC.

Wouldn't it work if the player uses an external player from within Kodi? Not sure if that works, thought it did...
