Eurosport Player addon doesn't work - ashibud - 2016-08-24
hi Jin,
I have an issue using the addon.
I had a eurosport account 2 months ago and I watched via your addon, worked great.
Today I sucscribed again but cannot view via the kodi addon.
When I open the addon, I don't have the live channels options in the list, but only the "Videos" section.
I can watch successfully watch the live channels using a PC browser, and also using my android phone.
I've tested the addon on 2 different devices, one running Kodi 15 and the other one running Kodi 16.
Addon version is 1.0.3. can't find a newer one.
Can you please guide me on how to solve this?

Thank you JinJin for this wonderful job.
I have a minor issue that hopefully can be solved changing a line in the source.
Under the videos section, when videos on demand are listed some descriptions available on the website are missing.
For example, under videos -> rally, you may find "European rally championship" followed by its duration (example 30 minutes). The issue is that there are 15 items with the same title and I'm unable to tell the difference before playing them. If I access the website from a pc under the video on demand section I can see the same video list but there is a further description, very short. Example "poland stage", "belgium" .....
I don't know how to retrieve this additional information that would obviously improve the browsing experience a lot.

Hi,
you can retrieve the description either with pressing i or with a different view.
If you're using Confluence as skin just change the view to episodes with view id 504 in the eurosport player addon settings.

Thanks for your reply.
I just installed the add-on on 3 different kodi devices and now I can view the channels,
Unfortunately, the live coverage videos are stopping for buffering all the time, and after a few minutes just stop and go out to the main screen.
There is no issue with the internet connection, as on Eurosport website I watch perfectly on the highest quality.
As I said, I tried on 2 laptops and 1 Android TV box, on different houses and different internet connections.
Do you have any idea what might cause this?

sorry there is nothing i can do here.
I had the same issues while watching us open today.
The addon is using the ios streams so you might have better luck with their website or official android app.

Is there an easy way for the add-on to use the android streams instead of the IOS ones?

Well,
im getting the same ios links with android settings.
All i can suggest you to reduce the video quality in the addon settings if you're having buffering issues.
And just to make sure its not your internet connection within kodi, you can speedcheck with my fast_com program on my dropbox folder.

Sorry, i don't.
You should better use the official eurosport apps, as there is no real chromecast support by kodi.

Wish I'd found about this addon sooner, LG decided to remove eurosport player from their app store on my uhd tv earlier this year so this addon is a life safer, not to mention even when the eurosport player app was available on my tv it never had the video on demand section so being able to access that with this addon is a bonus!

In some countries (like mine) there is dual language option in Eurosport Player. (EN/TR in mine and NL/EN in Netherlands some of my friends living) but on this Kodi Add-on Just showing Eurosport 1 / Eurosport 2 (Turkish Options in Turkey or Dutch options in Netherlands)
(Btw them are not only language option as when you select english you can see sometimes a different program so probably their links are different then original ESP1 / ESP2)
* No "EurosportNews" available when I connected kodi addon from here (Because it's only in English Feed) (But in web site it's available)
(Also on on demand only Turkish feed work on demand) /(And also only Eurosport 1's VOD options showing) On their web site both language & Also Eurosport 2's programs are on demand.
Can you add this options?

Sorry, but there is nothing i can do.
The Addon is scraping the mobile api and it looks like they are not available there.
Can you compare with the official android or ios app?
In Germany the english channels were also not available in the addon till this summer btw.

I have installed Eurosport Player 1.3.0 on RPi2, OpenElec 7.0.3 beta (Kodi Jarvis 16.1). Everything works fine and I can open any live stream and video except Squash videos.
