RE: fTV (Isengard only) - Hitcher - 2015-05-26

All of that is actually the Extended Info script so there's nothing I can do about the actions when clicking items.

Are you using the most up-to-date version (2.0.10) of it as it always shows the posters for me on 2 different systems?

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - b711 - 2015-05-26

In the HomeMenu, all TV Shows have the same logo of the first show (House of Cards or American Dad respectively in my situation). Am I the only one?Image

It's okay as soon as I open the TV Shows and every logo fits to the show...

Fixed in v0.9.96.

Thanks.

Hitcher: Many thanks for your continuing kindness to follow up with each and every comment in this thread.

I've got another question to ask: I would like to (or I have to, depends on the point of view) to keep our setup as simple as possible for my family, ie. I would like both my Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV to have an identical GUI/HomeScreen when Kodi is used. Therefore I am thinking of having the configuration files stored centrally on my NAS and have both devices look them up via that pathsubstitution in advancedsettings.xml. I do not know, whether it actually works, but I will give it a try.

From what I learned until now is that the customised home menu is stored in the addon_data of script.skinshortcuts and some things seems to be stored in guisettings.xml. Did I miss something? Your thoughts on this are highly appreciated. Many thanks!

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - Hitcher - 2015-05-26

Skin settings (including the home widgets) are stored in the guisettings.xml and the actual home list is stored in the addon_data of script.skinshortcuts. Both are stored in your userdata folder.

I manually put in an Arial.ttf that has unicode characters (https://bitbucket.org/dknlght/dk-xbmc-repaddon-rep/raw/master/arial.zip) but it doesn't work. Would really love to be able to get Unicode characters especially Chinese and Japanese characters to show up to complete the SAF and PAF (Parents). Thanks for keeping your ears open for feedbacks!

The font referred to in the Fonts.xml is there for addons to use and nothing more. You could change all the other font files used to Arial but it wont look very nice.

Thanks for the quick response, as always, Hitcher!

I started reading up more on the topic and stumbled upon on a discussion on unicode display for Zephyr which you participated in.

And I noticed the author of the skin did something to address it.

Do you foresee you making similar changes to this skin's Font.xml?

Probably not as this skin using Light, Regular, Medium, and Bold font weights whereas with Arial I can only use Regular and Bold.

As you suggested, I will change all the fonts referred in Font.xml to Arial and see how it looks to me so all my non-Roman add-ons and movies/shows can show up properly. I understand and respect your decisions, and would love for you to revisit this at some point down the road. Keep up the good work!

Same here and tv shows season view is also wide now even if settings is set not to use wide art on season view.

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - Speighty - 2015-05-26

I had the same issue, if you go into a TV show for example, go to view options it now gives the option to change the actual view so from wide view to poster and so on.

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - Hitcher - 2015-05-26

I reluctantly dropped setting the view types based on content because of the way video addons work. You'll now have to change to whatever view type best suits the content.

This of course will mess up the home widgets if they're not the same view type but there's nothing I can do about that.

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - lawrencecurtis - 2015-05-26

Would it now be possible to use skin shortcuts for the entire homescreen with a view type switch between poster and wide?

Means a lot more choice for the homescreen

RE: fTV (Isengard only) - lawrencecurtis - 2015-05-26

I know that's a lot of work and a lot easier said than done but could be a big win Smile thank you for this skin it really is fantastic. From a fellow hampshireman
