amazon fire tv not installing xbmc - engons - 2014-10-29
hi all, i just bought an amazon fire tv and i have updated it before installing xbmc. now im trying to install xbmc using a macbook and its not working. i have tried all kinds of methods like terminal adb and adbfire and still it doesnt install. is it because of the update or something else?
any suggestions?

yes big mistake you did updating, it but probably even with the firmware version that the box came with would had been the same.
People will ask you the firmware version (the one you updated to) to confirm. Have you tried downloading SPMC from the Amazon Appstore?

i did, it seems that it not compatible anymore. how can i fix it?

well it is new version, if you can't root it i doubt there is something you could do. Root is needed to downgrade firmware, install clockworkmod recovery, etc.

May have to wait for Koying to update it. Not sure why it would be incompatible now.
