Can you go to :

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons/skin.kover/shortcuts/ and rename the file overrides.xml to overrides.bak (to rename it back after testing)

Download this :

And place it the same place

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons/skin.kover/shortcuts/

When you're done, start KODI and try to enter again to Default widgets. Let me know if something is displaying.
When test is done, you can delete overrides.xml and rename again overrides.bak to overrides.xml.
