I think we want HiMediaPlayer used for most file types except DVD ISO's or DVD resolution (480, 576) files, OTA HDTV live streams (mpeg2 in the U.S.), plus any AVI/DIVX/XVID files right? Do you think there is a way to modify the XML so the player will be able to run files over NFS server? Would make my life a whole lot simpler, because SMB sharing multiple drives seems to be a nightmare. We do want himediaplayer used for iso, for the 3d iso files, otherwise kodi doesnt do 3d Acturally yeah, we do need wrapper for all video files otherwise we lose hd audio and 3d Only we dont need it for internet streams.... RE: New HiMedia Q5 - michacohen - 2015-07-29 Hello I bought 2 tronsmart device and return them since they didn't support DTS HD MA 7.1 channels (even they told me it supported and I saw in some forums that it supported) people thinks that if they see in KODI that it the file is DTS HD it means supported but they don't test it with receiver and in the option - sound the option of DTS HD is inactive I think to buy Himedia Q5iV but until now I didn't see any video example that present that the receiver is getting DTS HD from it Can some one send me one, I don't want to buy the 3rd device and return it back again (I understand that it will be done using HiMedia player that open auomticly from Kodi - it is OKO with me) RE: New HiMedia Q5 - looun - 2015-07-29 Himedia Q5 3D4k (IV) support Audio HD DTS - DD(atoms tested ) ONLY with himediavideoplayer app without problem , it can be set as external player in kodi with mediawrapper. RE: New HiMedia Q5 - hdmkv - 2015-07-29 Just be aware Q5/Q10/M3 presently have random audio dropouts with 23.976 content (even regular DD/DTS) that we're hoping there's a fix for in the next firmware update. Haventnoticed that yet RE: New HiMedia Q5 - hdmkv - 2015-07-29 Noticed last night watching 'Furious 7'; people also have been reporting it here. Guessing it has to do with their recent 23.976 implementation, which is perhaps affecting the audio from losing synch here and there. RE: New HiMedia Q5 - Skank - 2015-08-04 Anyone know if himedia H8 do 3d iso and hd audio also? I've been searching around to find out that exact same thing.. It definitely supports 3D iso as most places selling it on the net claim that it does so.. As far as audio goes the most i can find on it at the moment is that the H8 supports HDMI passthrough for audio.. As shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay-fCz6hbEU&ab_channel=tokoportable At around the 14:00min mark.. As for what that means i don't know, but i'm interested in finding out.. Mort.. RE: New HiMedia Q5 - looun - 2015-08-05 Quote: H8 has no hardware HD-Audio support Quote:The H8 is more powerful than Q5/Q10, scoring near double (~36,000) on Antutu benchmark. It however lacks Gigabit LAN, hardware HD-Audio, and the specialist HiSilicon chipset. The H8 is more of a general purpose / gaming box compared to the more media focussed Q5/Q10/M3.
