Seems they're saying it's the first method. Maybe the Kodi downloading in screenshot above is pulling their Kodi fork version (from their server), not the Play Store version.

While testing Zidoo X6 today, and comparing to Q5 (latest v3.0.1.1 firmware), I noticed that Q5 is outputting 23.976 at 24.000. This was supposedly fixed a couple firmwares back, but 23.976 is gone again? With my Epson 5025UB, 23.976 gets correctly reported as 23.98 (rounded up value at 2 digits after decimal).
And 'Avatar' 3D (in screenhot below) is indeed 23.976, not 24.000 (verified via MediaInfo on my PC).

Between Himedia Q5 and Q10...I think Q10 is better because it can have an internal hard disk, but it's got a small fan. Can you hear the fan? Can you disable the fan? Do you recommend Q5 or Q10?

Okay, this is very interesting... with firmware v1.0.9.1, HiMedia Q5 plays:
- 23.976 3D ISO's at 24.00Hz
- 23.976 2D ISO's and MKV's at proper 23.97Hz

Sorry. I read all pages before and i noticed two problems:
1. Use smb shares with user/password from Linux.
2. Use nfs shares.
3.it can use kodi addons.
Is it solved at last firmware?

The H8 as been out at least a month or two so they have had time to work on the firmware. Zidoo only have there first units turning up with customers now, give them a chance to make some updates.
