RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - knives of ice - 2015-06-17 ok i got things back setup fresh and things are working great again. before doing this, i decided to make Nfo files using ember for all of my movies. i downloaded all fanart as well with ember. one thing i don't understand is why the logos/diskart/etc for the movies don't show up in the skin if i've already downloaded them and named them properly in the folders? perhaps i did something wrong and don't realize it. if i run artwork downloader everything of course appears, but it seems this should be unneeded since i have everything named properly in my folders. RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - mikeSiLVO - 2015-06-17 (2015-06-17, 19:26)knives of ice Wrote: ok i got things back setup fresh and things are working great again. You have to activate the images in the settings of Artwork Downloader then enable use local files. After you do that you can then run it from the programs section to add all the missing images to the database. The images only appear after you add them to the database (after running Artwork Downloader) RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - Mike_Doc - 2015-06-17 Hi Knives, Generally I've found with Kodi itself that when you add a film it only uses the poster / fanart, this is what happens also when you import your librrary as well. I've had times where full artwork exists but Kodi only asisgns Poster / Fanart when importing so possible the same with scanning a film in as well? If you go into choose art you only get those 2 options listed as well!? Like you said, the work around is to run AD, making sure local art is set in the config for it, and then that pull everything else into the db for the film. I think the actual scraper(s) is possibly where the issue is and that they need to be enhanced to pull all artwork. Could be wrong, and generally am, so don't quote me . I've added 'Get artwork' as a direct option on the context menu, and also noticed on my test rig that there is a context item available from somewhere to do this as well, don't know where I got it from and can't find it at the moment, sorry Another thing is perhaps MikeS thinking about executing AD after a DB update but that would probably be for all films and not just what has been added? Which itself probably isn't the best solution either for this? RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - mikeSiLVO - 2015-06-17 (2015-06-17, 19:38)Mike_Doc Wrote: Hi Knives, I think I remember reading in the AD thread awhile back that Martijn didn't want to include that functionality because of unnecessary api calls. I have no idea if that has changed so I will most likely not add that unless his stance on it is now different or he does not mind having a skin that adds it... RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - Batiatus - 2015-06-17 (2015-06-17, 19:04)mikesilvo164 Wrote: I never ranted about anything all I did was give my opinion on something and your question was unnecessary to ask since a Google search or even looking at the forum you are in would solve it for you. I wasn't going to spend more of my time answering you when all that would've gotten me was an argument or some response where I would have to deal with your personality problems, like this response will no doubt bring me. My opinion does not require a followup Q/A with you and my snarky response was because of how you treat others, and frankly you deserved a lot worse. I thought it was actually rather benign. Since you keep talking about my snarky response, I shouldn't have tried to take the high road and apologize cause in the end it would never matter. If you have problems with a skin and it isn't being supported or updated then my opinion should make sense enough for you to agree with. (2015-06-08, 22:17)mikesilvo164 Wrote: Apologies for the long post... That, my friend, is exactly how you start a rant. My question was fair and just. You gave your opinion on why Nox 4 is dead. I asked what, in your opinion, Nox 4 users should be looking to move into. Your reply was nothing but snarky, rude and uncalled for. And as you just stated was based solely on the poster asking and not based at all on the questions being asked in regards to your rant. I asked why the attitude and you continued on, just as you have here in "your" thread. Yet I am the one with an attitude problem? I posted in this thread pertaining to the topic on hand, not what happens in other places at other times. If you wish to continue to carry on that conversation go ahead. I have nothing more to say on off-topic discussion. Please though stop trying to tell others to do as you say, not as you do. RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - Mike_Doc - 2015-06-17 think you might be right about the API calls Mike. so no go on auto AD solution I think RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - mikeSiLVO - 2015-06-17 (2015-06-17, 19:54)Batiatus Wrote: That, my friend, is exactly how you start a rant. In my opinion your posts in this thread are not about the topic because it isn't about what works best for your situation. I hope that makes some sense without sounding rude because that is not my intention. I do not want to continue with negative things so if you feel the same then there should be nothing stopping us both from moving on from past events and conversations. Does that sound agreeable? If you use an external programme like ember or tiny media manager AD will add all the artwork for new movies. I have since found using that along with the new emby addon you can have a perfectly synced library across several boxes. Although this is not skin related RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - knives of ice - 2015-06-17 (2015-06-17, 19:29)mikesilvo164 Wrote:(2015-06-17, 19:26)knives of ice Wrote: ok i got things back setup fresh and things are working great again. ahh...great thanks so much. these are the settings i did have actually. so in reality, it was using my images i just didn't realize that it was actually importing them in. i just assumed that there was no need to run artwork downloader that the scraper would find all the images when you imported a library. in reality, it is using my images i just didn't realize i needed to run AD to actually accomplish this still. that would explain why things were found and imported so much quicker on initial setup. Why do you keep ranting? You can disagree all you like but you contradict yourself right in your run-on statements. I made no mention of goings on elsewhere in this thread. You brought it up. I've posted several things about this skin in this thread that are not easy and I've found frustrating. Features that in general have no defaults and require sleuthing to find. And I don't mean in the code I mean in the skin itself. There's no options for customizing your own sub-menu items unless you know the string to enter yourself. And then sub-menu items can't be assigned their own fanart? You also have to set the default fanart for every menu item yourself both for the home menu and then in that menu item? So finding the code which should make all that default to a backgrounds folder isn't easy at all. Digging into the code has been troublesome because there are so many strings and controls to trace to find 1 call-to. Do people really like black screens all the time? Although this is not skin related Haven't read your entire question (even if it's off topic) but the BEST way to maintain your library is to export anytime you add something new and get it set up with all artwork. Export to individual files (but NOT actor thumbs) and there's no worries if something dies as every movie/show/whatever will have all it's art and nfo files together. Anything else is just silly if you plan on maintaining a large and clean library after putting in the work to get it that way. Export is your friend. You can set the background images by category in skin settings (videos, TV shows, movies, etc.). Yes, but as I said there's no defaults. And finding the code to make these defaults hasn't been easy at all. As yet I've not found any way to set custom background fanart for sub-menu items. What worked before doesn't seem to now, for a few options and controls. RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO mod (Isengard + Helix) - Warner306 - 2015-06-17 More fights over a skin? The problem is Batiatus is trying to work on his own thing but doesn't understand all of the mechanics of the skin. It can't be that hard to selectively help with the answers Mike knows. It can also be noted you don't have the answers to some of his questions or don't have time to check the code in detail. However, Batiatus doesn't need to criticize the way in which BigNoid designed the skin. The skin is what it is and is pretty efficient, in my opinion. Basically, the skin designer is never going to think about skin design exactly the same way as you. First I do not keep ranting and if you would read the definition that you linked in your post you would know that. Second I didn't bring any of the "goings on" up elsewhere first YOU did that check your quoted post above. You also came to this thread and started ranting yourself so way to go hypocrite. I do not care what frustrates you, pick a different hobby. You can also take your opinions on this skin elsewhere because I do not care what they are. I don't make things for Batiatus and I never will. You obviously want to keep arguing with me so lets keep going because you came to my thread. |
