You're a star, Mr. V... Thank you!!! That workaround sorted it out. Episodes now populate and display as I require them to. Will there be a fix for this in later builds of your widgets?

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - djg91 - 2016-03-12

Hi, is it possible to change the font size for the window that pops up when you click on a movie plot inside ExtendedInfo Script Mod? (pictured below)

Tried editing DialogVideoInfo.xml but no luck so far.

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - hunkyn - 2016-03-12

Does animated gif poster work on this skin? I tried couple of them and could not get it work. So i was not sure if it is skin limitation or something i am doing.

I use Tri-Panel view for TV Shows and Movies. I do not use the option to have backdrops display (Turned off in side panel). I use Recently added movies as a widget with Poster view. When you hover over a movie cover in the widget a backdrop is supposed to display. The only one that will display for ME are the ones that have either been displayed at some point in time or I must turn on backdrops in my Movie Tri-Panel view and briefly touch on each movie one-at-a-time to make it pull in the backdrop. Once it has the backdrop, I guess cached in the thumbnail folder, then the widget will show the backdrop....so I just know I need to change something that it couldn't be a problem this wonderful skin has. Smile
Most likely a cache thing. Kodi "caches" artwork once it has been accessed so I recommend using Texture Cache Maintenance Utility (wiki) to pre-cache it without needing to activate the fanart in the side menu.

I mean to find a bug
Is this a bug or is this correct....

Make a music playlist, and in the view I have only two selection options, list and symbols. is that right?

And the reviews, the stars is missing .....
Only 2 views for playlist and its soon to be one view. Playlists currently do not contain as much info available to a skin as a view so they use a basic list view but that list will show ratings either user added or in the idv3 tags or similar in the file.

This is the italian string file as i said before,

The problems are:
1) msgctxt "#31917" this string doesn't change...Huh
2) Please help me finding the string "clear" referred to case style. I think that is located
somewhere in kodi (not in your string.po)

thank you again for your amazing mod!
I hope I remember to add it but... Good News!! The skin has been added to the translation system thanks to Kodi team member alanwww1 Smile so in the future additional forum member provided translations should now be unnecessary Nod

If you mod it yes, but I currently do not have an option for that... Should I add one? Does anybody else want to hide this?

I am using Aeon nox skin and I set my backgrounds from images I pushed to the SD card. When I reopen kodi, the backgrounds are not there.

Also, when I try to copy my stick the backgrounds do not copy over.

I hope someone can help, I've been searching for an answer for days. Thank you!!
Don't copy settings just re-select your background choices for the menu item... It literally takes a couple of minutes to set up dozens of menu items...

Once Discart is added as an option for TV Shows then I will add it but until then I would have to use fake Discart which I am not a fan of and unlikely to use at this moment Confused

Firstly this skin has nothing to do with the Extended Info script and secondly the Extended Info Mod is related to piracy add-ons so... Sad

Skin does not control that. Kodi does so if you select a gif using the choose art function it should update and use it on v16 Jarvis and above.

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - Australian MPAA Ratings Flags - mikeyman22 - 2016-03-12

(2016-03-06, 06:40)mikeyman22 Wrote: Hi Mike, big fan of your Aeon Nox 5 and your skin. Thank you for all your hard work and ongoing support.

Regarding Australian MPAA ratings support, which I noticed in the changelog.txt, how do I enable them in the interface ? I'm running Kodi v16.0 released version, Aeon Nox 5.8.5, and Aeon Nox Silvo 5.8.2-3.0.1.
I only have them in color so to see them you need to activate the colored icons and mediaflags option in Skin settings > SiLVO mod. Makes sense to do that since them being the only ones in color would look weird, to me at least Confused

I've tried these changes, but still have the USA ratings. Note also I have:
- Appearance / International / Region = Australian (24h)
- Skin Settings / SiLVO mod = Use colored icons and media flags is ON

In Movie information I still see the colored USA flags. Are there scrapper configuration changes I need to make ? If so which scrapper and what settings ?

It seems the issue of supporting non-USA ratings flags is a 2 part issue:

1. Media Flag Images Change - this should be 'easier' as it is providing the Australian ratings image files, and mapping the right image to the USA rating. This provides 'Australian' flags, but ratings may not be exactly correct. For example many movies are rated R in USA, but only MA+ in Australia. We have an R rating in Australia but not many movies have this rating.

2. Source of Data for actual Australian Ratings - as per above, we would need a data source that has the actual movie rating in Australia for a given movie, rather than just the USA rating. Then we need a scrapper that can scrape those Australian ratings. Then we need the Kodi Skin to be able to support reading the scrapper Australian ratings and display the Australian icons for them.

So this is a general problem that would apply for all non-USA countries eg. Canada ? Part 1 might be easy as it is aout just getting the images correct, but Part 2 is much harder as need to source correct country data, get it to scrapper, then into the skin.

Thoughts ?

Ok thanks that's what i thought. I will try again tonight and see if i can figure it out.

The flags appear using this code:
Code:
        <value condition="SubString(ListItem.MPAA,Australia:G)">flags/mpaa/australia_G.png</value>
        <value condition="SubString(ListItem.MPAA,Australia:PG)">flags/mpaa/australia_PG.png</value>
        <value condition="SubString(ListItem.MPAA,Australia:M)">flags/mpaa/australia_M.png</value>
        <value condition="SubString(ListItem.MPAA,Australia:MA)">flags/mpaa/australia_MA.png</value>
        <value condition="SubString(ListItem.MPAA,Australia:R)">flags/mpaa/australia_R.png</value>
Which says the MPAA field of your library items need to contain Australia:X and X is the rating. You need to change the options in your preferred scraper to get the correct regional classification. You can also install library editor script to check the current MPAA field and change it to what you need it to be. If you have a metadata program that creates NFO's or something and it uses a different naming scheme let me know and I will add it to the VAR. Wink

Thanks Mike, I'll play around with these code entries, although which file would it be so I can make a start ? Then I'll come back with the easiest step-by-step I come up with so all those other 'aussies' can make the tweaks. Big Grin

I recommend not messing with the code since that will not be helpful in the long run. I would check the scraper settings. For example I use Universal Movie Scraper and under the Rating section you can choose where to get the certificate from (source) and your preferred country. I would refresh a library item afterwards and use the Library Editor script to see what it fills in for the MPAA field and let me know if I need to add more matches for different Australian naming conventions. It cannot be just G or PG since they are used in more than one region so it is preferred to preface the rating with the country like UK: PG (space added cause it would register as a tongue sticked out emoji Wink) for example.

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - hunkyn - 2016-03-12

Tried more digging into the animated gifs and seems like gifs do not work over the shared network location (ie smb). We will have to wait for Krypton to be able to do this.

I think I found a bug in DialogSeekbar.xml. It is the slider in the seekbar.
in line 107 and 108 there is

Code:
<textureslidernib colordiffuse="$VAR[ThemeLabelColor]">listselect_fo.png</textureslidernib>
<textureslidernibfocus colordiffuse="$VAR[ThemeLabelColor]">listselect_fo.png</textureslidernibfocus>

shouldn't that be osd_slider_nib.png or osd_slider_nibNF.png instead of listselect_fo.png?
It is osd_slider_nib.png in AeonNox, btw
Not a bug since images like that need to be changed using themes and I am getting rid of that by using images that can be colordiffused. If you have a suggestion... Wink

1. When Arial is used, the font of the main (vertical) menu is really small, and very difficult to read on tv screens.
2. When you hide the artwork in the playback info osd, the text layout stays identical. Wouldn't it make more sense to enlarge the text boxes (widen the plot info, for example, so as to have less scrolling?) when no artwork is selected?
3. I've noticed that all of my media uses up to four backgrounds that scroll. However, for some shows or films I have 5-10 images, some of which I've never seen in the skin. Is there a way to increase this limit?
1) I don't use Arial so I will take a look and if I do not please remind me Wink
2) That was to simplify things... will see what I can do.
3) You can use my forked version of Toolbox script which adds 10 extrafanarts or just modify the current one using the same commit I added to achieve that but having so many introduces lots of possible crappy images, IMHO.

Cute reply ?

Am sure it would have be easier to just say delete your source list. It's also rude and ignorant of u to assume that because I had a source list it was associated with piracy after all it was created for other uses than piracy after all. .Thanks for sharing the rules of the forum with me I will check over them next time I ask a legitimate question in these forums.

It's a shame you can't be bothered as some genuine users do come across simple things like this and we are clearly not all as intelligent as you my friends so I will bow down and kiss your ring now oh might one.

Thank you for your insightful reply and have a great day sir

Oh, jiminy... Bob is literally a saint and like all who give too much to others he is prone to being... looking for a "nice" word to use... annoyed by certain things and when you were given the answer, twice, on what to do but kept on asking, even to me, it felt like you were just being difficult. Try to understand that people like Bob and myself give back to this community for nothing but an appreciative Thank You and sometimes all we ask is that a user takes two muthaf'n seconds to do a quick search or read like anyone who should expect to grasp things in life should be doing. Bob has literally explained this dozens of times in numerous threads and if it seems, like he was being short that is not only your wrong interpretation but also because life is and dealing with the same bullshit questions by lazy users is really fucking annoying so how bout you turn off the dick mode and relax or don't and go away. Your choice.

Really: Thank you!
No problem buddy Cool

Code:
[['mainmenu', 'weather', 'background', u'/Users/bobC/Pictures/stock_pictures/file0001.jpg'],
['mainmenu', 'weather', 'backgroundName', u'/Users/bobC/Pictures/stock_pictures/file0001.jpg'],
['mainmenu', 'weather', 'icon', 'special://skin/extras/icons/DefaultAddonWeather.png']]

The first column is the group - in your case, if you want to change the location for a main menu item, look for "mainmenu". The second represents the individual item, based on its label (what the script calls the labelID). The third is the property name, and the fourth is the value.

So, if I wanted to change the 'background' property (which is the path to the background associated with the menu item) for my Weather menu item on the main menu, I'd edit the fourth column of the first row. The 'backgroundName' property is just the name of the background, if the skin wants to display it, and isn't used to determine which image is shown.

If you have edited the relevant line in your own .properties file to the special protocol path and the background now isn't showing either the background isn't where you've specified, or you've made a mistake whilst editing so that Skin Shortcuts can't correctly parse the file. Unfortunately, neither are issues that I can assist with.
Bob... your too nice and helpful, stop it! You are making me look bad Tongue

As far as the sliders are concerned, I think it looks better with the standard images (I mean the small ticks), rather than the listselect image, because as is, it just doesn't make sense, you can't see where a rewind might end up on the timeline. On the one hand, it would be best to perhaps redo these images into transparent ones. On the other hand, perhaps it would be easier to use some other image that was already redone, that fits better with the needed narrow shape? Something like thumbnail_focused.png, crammed into smaller dimensions comes to mind, but I'm neither a coder nor a skinner, so I have absolutely no idea if what I've said is even logical. Confused

As far as the toolbox goes, I had no idea you had your own toolbox script! It is a wonderful surprise. It's true that there can be a lot of crappy images, but setting the minimal rating to something like 8 solves this annoyance. In that case, most shows/films will have less than the maximum number of images, and only when there's a lot of good ones will there be more. Now, when I download stuff with artwork downloader, I usually run the script manually, am I right in saying there's no easier or automated way?

Lastly, I'm hoping to bend your ear about the playback OSD. Big Grin The skin has received a lot of visual upgrades in these last few months, and while I personally don't always like the layout of things (for instance the lack of an info on pause option, etc.), I can clearly understand - and respect - the reasoning behind it. Heck, the very fact that there is reasoning behind it is good enough for me. But as things are now, I really think those darn playback buttons are the ugliest part of an otherwise terrific skin. It's not that they are grey, nor that they are in the top portion of the screen, they seem as if they were meant to look cool a long time ago, but end up being cheap by today's eyes. They're low-res and hide that fact very poorly. Again, it wouldn't bother me at all if there were actual problems with this skin, but when one's experience is bug-free, the eye wanders. Blush And while I am aware that re-imagining the whole interface while keeping true to your vision for the skin is a huge pain (even more so if and when the user requests seem to go against your overall design), do you think there's a chance to at least "update" the buttons?

Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble on. Big Grin
Cheers, and thanks for all your hard work!

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - beeswax - 2016-03-12

Would it be possible to add an option (or let me know how I can hack it) to hide the EPG import progress bar when Kodi is starting up? Specifically, I'm having trouble with the "Importing guide from clients" popup.

I've moved from DVBViewer to DVBLink for LiveTV and while most things are improved, EPG import with the DVBLink plugin is slow, like 40 seconds slow. A fix from the developer isn't forthcoming. I used to use AeonMQ and it didn't matter so much with that as the progress bars for such things were at the very top of the screen and very narrow. With Aeon Nox though, the size is quite large and the placement....unfortunate. Once Kodi is open and ready to use, the rather large EPG import window sits there in the way, 40s might not sound like a long time but it's pretty annoying when you're trying to view the movie/tv walls.
