KODI 14.0 - AirPlay not working - Andearoid - 2014-12-01
Hello,
I updated my XBMC 13.2 to Kodi 14.0 RC1 and nightly build (01/12/2014). AirPlay is no more working into all new Kodi release.
So, I have to come back to XBMC 13.2 to enjoy my media center.
Hope it will be back into the final release

FYI : Kodi is seen as AirPlay device over the network but the video isn't playing onto Kodi's screen.

its there and working fine for me ... post debug log (wiki) - also please describe the clients (which devices, which ios version, which apps).

Hello,
You'll find my logfile from Kodi 14.0 at the bottom of this message.
My video source is an HLS live TV stream (m3u8 + ts) created and pushed directly by the VODOBOX Android Server program. You can download it for free trial from this page : http://www.vodobox.com/index.html?content=download_android_server_en.html
Perhaps, the problem is around the HLS playlist support. I can use XBMC 12.x and 13.x as AirPlay device with the same HLS server software.

I binary compared files into system\airplay between XBMC 13.2 and Kodi 14.0 and they have exactly the same checksum.

1. please follow the debug log (wiki) and never post logs into threads directly but use something like pastebin.com (i have moved the snippets for you)
2. It looks like the m3u8 file has invalid xml in it. We use libplist to parse that content and it complains that it was not able to parse it successfully.
3. Please post the m3u8 file to pastebin.com if you can so i can have a look whats the problem.

There's no XML tags into M3U8 playlist content. So, I don't understand why the error message talk about a missing "<" tag.

Today I tested Kodi 14.0 with VODOBOX Flash Server program and it doesn't works too. VODOBOX Flash Server provide an .FLV live stream, instead of .M3U8 playlist. This means the M3U8 parse isn't the problem because VODOBOX Flash Server works with XBMC 13.2.
All I know is VODOBOX Android Server and VODOBOX Flash Server programs use the same HTTP protocol to communicate. I think problem could be an error into the HTTP header received.
VODOBOX Android Server and VODOBOX Flash Server work with XBMC 12.2 and 13.2. I tested today. And a friend of mine use VODOBOX Android Server with an Apple TV third gen (Cortex A9). In my opinion, the problem can coming from the HTTP parser.

Sry i mixed it up - the XML is in the airplay protocol not in the m3u8. Without a wireshark dump i am not able to see the problem i guess.

I suppose the XML communication for AirPlay is created by the "Apple Bonjour" driver.
Because I must install it on my Windows 7 computer to enable AirPlay functionalities.
So, your update should work with any software using "Bonjour" as AirPlay communication interface

A bit confused about what you write - i think you got it wrong.
Bonjour is needed for airplay since day one and has nothing to do with the airplay transfer. Its only used for detecting capable airplay devices or announcing capabilities. Once a device was found via bonjour - bonjour is out of the game.Anyway - i refactored something at one point assuming wrong things - changing things back made it work again ... will ensure to get it into helix...
