So, just disable omxplayer if you want to force dvdplayer.
By default dvdplayer will be used when required (e.g. dvds with menus, alsa audio, or codec with hardware decode support).

Thanks for clarifying that. It's been a while since I setup Gotham and I've forgotten a lot of stuff unfortunately but I'm slowly getting back up to speed Smile

(2015-03-08, 00:33)Milhouse Wrote: I can reproduce what you are seeing, with movies (files) that are not scraped into my library - clicking "Show Information" in the "Choose" menu results in the playback commencing. In fact, the "i" button on my remote has no effect on these movies/files. It looks like the "Show Information" option being offered for unscraped files is probably an oversight.

I know that the "Information" panel is linked somehow to the movie scraper - a long time ago I scraped my library to MySQL using the IMdB scraper, and then I setup a new system that didn't have the IMdB scraper installed, and the "Information" panel wouldn't work until I had installed the IMdB scraper. So it's possibly not surprising that the "Information" panel doesn't (or can't) work for unscraped items.

I agree it would be better if the "Show Information" option wasn't offered for unscraped items, perhaps you could suggest it as a feature request?

OK cool, glad it's not just me doing something wrong Smile

Yeah, I'll submit a feature request although I guess I need to switch to OE 5.0.5 and confirm the same behaviour with that first.

@popcornmix
In codec overlay:
omx-h264 means h264 with omxplayer using hardware decode
mmal-h264 means h264 with dvdplayer using hardware decode
ff-h264 means h264 with dvdplayer using software (ffmpeg) decode

This would be useful information to add to Post #1 help.

Thanks.

Pi1 or Pi2? Can you paste your config.txt and a debug log.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) - doldi - 2015-03-08

On my Pi2 the screen hangs an Kodi15:I...Logo for 7 sek. after update from #0228 to #0307.
This Pi2 is normaly so fast on start (#0228), that i don't see the Kodi lettering on the end of splashscreen :-)

Video DVD over SMB:\\ on WLAN works perfekt without any Audio Delay, stuttering or so.
( with -> decode_MPG2=0x123456789)

After restart and debugging enabeld the Pi2 is ready after boot-time 10 sec without stuck on Kodi15Isengard logo,
,,,but i see not the Kodi on spalshscreen ;-) ....no problem for me - the second Pi2 on LAN network show me that.

Audio output latency on System OSD is now fixed. Cool

my debugging, if you want.

THX for making this good job.

Hi and thx for the good work.

In the latest build (#0307) I can only choose English for language.

here is a debug log from my second Pi2 on TV over HDMI after reboot on Update.

I notice an Window at the bottom right "german" - all thing are on the right place i think.

Where are you truing to change the language, OpenELEC Settings addon or the main Settings GUI?

If it's OpenELEC Settings, this is by design.

If it's the main Settings, then please post a debug log when you try to change language.

Edit: I'm able to change language in the main Settings GUI, it may be necessary to start with a fresh .kodi (or maybe just guisettings.xml) due to all the recent language changes now in #0307.

This might be an issue for a short while, as the PVR addons have now been split out from xbmc-pvr-addons into individual repositories and now build differently, which is not yet fully supported by OpenELEC and is causing some breakage. The individual repositories are being updated while the old repository seems to be lagging behind, not sure what's going to happen to the old repository to be honest.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) - fab67 - 2015-03-08

It's my first post,
I'm the owner of a rpi2 for 2 weeks now.
Firstly I want to thank Milhouse,Popcornmix and all others for the great work.

(2015-03-08, 11:32)Arabaldo Wrote: Hi and thx for the good work.

In the latest build (#0307) I can only choose English for language.

I had the same problem from #304 to #307, all my menus return from French to English.

But in system/Appearance/international you have a new option for language ( first option ).
And all my menus are back in French.

I also tried hevc/mp4 files and it's ok up to 1024*576 with x265 default but 720p isn't. But with --tune fast-decode ( with disable sao) in x265, 720p encode is almost watchable.

And there are some new optimimized neon instructions in preparation -> https://github.com/OpenHEVC/openHEVC/commits/shm-dev?author=stseppo
I hope a patch for ffmpeg will be commited soon.
