Can an owner please confirm the exact Realtek sound and LAN chips used.
In Linux ls-pci should do it.. in Windows device manager and post the vendor/hardware IDs 0x10EC is Realtek 0x8168 is for RTL8168 LAN chip for example....
I need particular ones if I am to run AROS as well as OpenElec or other OS

First an answer to those with the audio not returning issue. There is a script you can add that is listed on the Chromebox wiki to fix the issue. The Wiki can be found here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Chromebox go down towards the bottom of the page and there are instructions to fix it. This is for OpenElec only. It should also work on this box is you are using the generic OpenElec build for Intel hardware.
Also in OpenElec you can change the power off to suspend. It's not a total off but works well. I did have a problem with having an SD card in the card reader. The system would do exactly as some of you stated where it would pop back on a couple of seconds after it went to sleep. For me this would not be an issue with the Zotac box as I can IP control it utilizing the WOL that is not supported in my Chromebox.
Now a question for those of you running Kodi on Windows have you been able to playback either .mkv 3D or full blu-ray disc 3d? Or even in OpenElec for that matter?
I'm excited at the fact of using one box for Kodi with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu!
My Chromebox OpenElec setups run flawlessly but are unable to do 3D or 4K and I still have to use a Roku for Netflix, etc.
Mind you I'm a custom installer so everything is single button access without any noticeable delay in switching between Kodi and the other services. (and I'm sorry but your hamony won't do it as it takes IP control on the Roku, Kodi box, and receiver.) It would just be nice to be able to have one box do it all efficiently.

What's your issue with 4K on the Chromebox?
My Asus Chromebox outputs 3840x2160p at 23.974/24.000/25/29.97 and 30.00Hz and 4096x2160 at 23.976 and 24.000Hz. It plays H264 4K content with VAAPI acceleration and low CPU usage.
I don't get 2160p at 50/59.94/60.00Hz because the Chromebox doesn't support HDMI 2.0 (nor does it support the 4:2:0 HDMI 2.0 mode that just squeaks into HDMI 1.4 bandwidths and doesn't require a full HDMI 2.0 interface - which is how some Sony UHD TVs support 50/60p 4K and nVidia HDMI 1.4a GPUs deliver 2160/50p and 60p output)

As the hardware are almost identical it should not matter. @Methanoid I'll check out the realtek chips used once I'm home later.

I've opened up the device manager screen and selected network adaptor and it just days realtek PCi GBE family controller. Where do I get the exact details from.

I think I found them. For audio there appears to be ids present but both are the same.

Sorry h265-->4K, h265 1080p with hires audio is no problem.
And the Chromebox was brought up because a couple of the issues you guys were having with the Zotac can probably be solved by looking at the chromebox wiki (similar hardware) and because I wanted a comparison between the two as I'm looking at using the Zotac also utilizing Windows 8.1 for Netflix etc, with Kodi for Windows.
And yes my NVidia card on my server plays about everything on my Sony XBR, but then that's not why we are here...
