Hi macrho could you please give me the name of the supplier where you placed your order.

I'll buy the H version NUC5i5RYH.

Thanks

Thank you DocG I didn't know this supplier because I'm french and now I pretty much understand macrho's post ;-)

Great price on overstock but when you add shipping and duty/taxes I don't know if it's a good deal.

Hey guys with the H version we're agree that you can fit a 2.5"HDD of 1 Tb and a M2 SSD of 256Go for example ?

What will you do in my place ?

Would you only buy a 2.5" HDD of 1 Tb to run W7 and stocked movies and run openelec on the USB 3.0 stick

or

buy a 2.5" HDD of 1Tb for the movies only and have a M2 SSD of 256 Go with W7 and run openelec on a usb stick sandisk ?

Thanks

It's expensive considering shipping etc., but if I can wait another week or so I can buy the i5 reasonably close by, and probably at the cheapest price point available at that time. That Australian reseller currently has the cheapest listed prices for the i3 models.

Can't help you with your question as I'm not you. I wouldn't get the H, I'd use M.2 for OS and I would store movies externally. ;-)

@Roosvelt, apologies for not posting the link
Looks like it shipped and I'll have it today though don't have the memory/hard drive from amazon yet so it'll be a weekend install
i plan on running win 8.1 on it, it's the NUC5i5RYK though had to order the M.2 SSD which was more expensive than the 2.5 SSD but I'm a sucker for the small form factor and was ok with the added expense

Did you buy a PCI-E? Isn't the interface SATA III? I think Sata III is enough for my uses anyway. Cheaper...

yes, it's PCI-E the m.2 slot is supposed to support SATA and PCI-E
I guess I'll find out if it doesn't

Ok, i have read it. yes it supports PCI-E either. My question is does it worth it? SSD is already really fast...

No problem ;-)
The Samsung XPS rules.
Legit reviews had test it with the last nuc i5 it's the best product available on the market to date.

I don't know if I'll buy this one only for Kodi use except if I'll do as you told me the K version and a external usb 3.0 HD connected to.

Do you think you can FTP from the iMac to the external usb directly ?

Today I ftp my files to the internal HDD of my ISP's box

http://nucblog.net/2014/01/getting-the-ir-receiver-to-work-with-haswell-nucs/

unfortunately I have already tried this but it doesn't work. Maybe the problem is that IR receiver have an alternate address on the Boardwell NUC then the haswell NUC.

Is there a way to report this to intel or raise it in their community forums? Issues with CIR and haswell were previously reported and fixed even though it took a while:

Hopefully something similar can be done with the Broadwell NUC?

Good idea

I have just made a report there hopefully there someone that can help.
