New tvheadend addon implementation for Kodi v15! - negge - 2015-01-14
After a lot of work and a lot of feedback from the community, the forked addon previously known as "pvr.tvh" has now replaced the official "pvr.hts" addon, which means it will be the one and only addon to use in future versions of Kodi. To make it possible for users of the official addon to update to this newer version, the addon name has been kept as "pvr.hts". This means those that are currently using the "pvr.tvh" addon will have to uninstall it and install the official version instead, then reconfigure the addon.
For those that haven't been following, the work on a new addon was started by adamsutton and is largely based on the old pvr.hts addon developed by opdenkamp. Later on I jumped in and started contributing as well. This new implementation fixes pretty much all known issues that the old addon had, but for users the most important part is that this addon now has maintainers (the more focus shifted toward the new addon, the more the official one got neglected) and will continue to improve as tvheadend itself improves.
I encourage everyone who's currently running Kodi v15 (master) to update their addons to the latest version so we can nail any remaining issues. The builds have been broken for a day or two so at the moment (2015-01-14) only the Windows nightlies have updated addons, but other platforms will surely follow soon.
I want to thank everyone who's helped track down issues in the "TVHEADEND TVH ADDON" thread, without the community feedback we wouldn't have gotten this far. In the future, please open a new thread if you have an issue with the addon, this thread and the "TVHEADEND TVH ADDON" thread will be closed.
