xbmc can't play subs - smajser - 2006-08-16

hi all,

Evox V+3935

i have problem with playing .avi movies on xbmc with subs in same folder. i tried .srt and .sub files and i do put them in same folder and it still cant play the subs. there must be something i am not enabling in the settings or something i am missing.
please help the noobBig Grin

foo.avi matches foo.srt

or browse for it in the osd

I think you'll also need the .idx if using .sub
If that doesn't work, post a debug log.

I did have this problem recently, it turned out my Z drive was full, so XBMC had no room to cache the subs. I just deleted some strange large files of Z and that fixed it Smile

depends whether its a vobsub or a microdvd sub...

open the .sub file in a text editor.

if you see binary stuff, it's a vobsub. if you see text its not

all .sub and .srt-s are text. looks ok.
