RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - Jemus - 2016-02-26

I currently use kodi-20160208-53760db-adddroidPT-armeabi-v7a.apk which can still be found here.
I only use this older version, as I just noticed there is a newer build available.

It works with DTSHD and DolbyTrueHD. Bus as I have no height speakers installed yet, I can't say weather the passthrough of DolbyAtmos works as well.

The 3.0 release mentioned improved support for Denon, can anyone advise if the issues are now resolved?

Many thanks in advance, especially to the developers.

No problems for me with this combination.

Perfect, thanks again Jemus, and to you wrcveen.

MiXplorer is the best!!!

I installed last week after someone (you?) suggested it. It did not respond to a single command from IR remote, Shield controller or remote. I shut and opened it several times but got no love every time; as such uninstalled it. It was version 6.1.2Beta_B1602163

I felt like I was playing some kind of secret game with ES every time I tried to use it without a mouse. X-Plore is not perfect, but it is a million times easier to use.
sorry about that, but I don't think I ever tried MiXplorer with my ir remote... I think I always use it with my wireless keyboard that as a trackpad mice... and it works fine. I also think that it works fine with both the nvidia shield controler and the remote. I will try it later again.

RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - Hiphopopotamus - 2016-02-27

Nope, I just installed MiXplorer_v5.2.29_build_201506091.apk to make sure it wasn't a Beta issue, an remote and controller also don't work. So it seems to reply on mouse and keyboard. In which case I am guessing useless to most.
Looked nice and clean, but can't be used.

Hi. Am interested in the shield and i have a few questions

1) Does it support hdr through kodi or the native video player?
2) Is atmos and dts x working in passthrough?
3) Is kodi updated in the latest build for the shield to support EGL interoperation for better colors no banding etc?

Thanks very much for this.

Just weird that it was working before and now is all black. I don't think I changed anything, but maybe I did and forgot about it. I'll start digging through settings.

Did you ever resolve this issue with black screenshots? I'm new to Shield but not KODI and I'm getting the same - all black png files which are 6.1KB.

Just want to check before I raise a defect.

Disable "Mediacodec(Surface)" to take screenshots.

RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - mbriody - 2016-02-27

Where do I find this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. All good now, thanks!

What do I lose from changing this setting?

RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - Koying - 2016-02-27

4K, if applicable

RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - mbriody - 2016-02-27

No 4K for me yet, I can live with that

Hi Guys

Running Isengard and 99% of videos play fine.

A few though, don't play, instead you can just hear sound for a few seconds and it then cuts off

There's a debug log here if anyone can help?

I didn't see the top part of the debug log, as to versions and hardware.

Most of the errors I see are

09:44:41 T:1474271536 ERROR: CStageFrightVideo - decoding error (-2147483648)
09:44:41 T:1471138096 ERROR: Previous line repeats 505 times.

So is there any easy way to autostart kodi? If I must sideload a Google play app, anyone have a low overhead non malware one??
