I prefer ServerWMC. If you enable DLNA streams in the ServerWMC setup, channel changing in Kodi is quite fast.

Is there a setup u used to walk you thu the install

Here's a link to the Wiki. It will walk you through the setup.

How is the Live-TV MPEG-2 hardware decoding (and hardware deinterlacing)?
I only have SD live-tv so the deinterlacing and scaling is important for me.

3) Is the picture quality in Kodi better than the Chromebox version?

Many thanks.

same question for me Wink
I m really interested with Shield Android Tv , But it would be great if we can boot directly to Kodi.
Someone has an idea if we can do that ?

and can we use the famous app "yatse" on google play to take control of Kodi Media player with our phone ?
yatse is just the best remote control with phone for kodi !

Many thanks

Anyone found an USB DAC that works with the Shield TV and Kodi?
I'm looking for a way to get analogue stereo to my amp.

Is anyone working on more deinterlacing options for Kodi on the Shield?

Right now only Bob and Bob-inverted is available, hoping for more/better options at some point Smile

Thanks for all the work on Kodi for Android, it's running great on the Shield so far!

I have a Shield console arriving over the next week or so. I know you can install kodi from the google play store. But I assume this is not going to have the latest updates. I am not familiar with android - there must be a way to side load beta versions of kodi?

Is there an eta on when support for bit streaming hd audio will be there?

Yes, you can sideload any version. Easiest way it to install ES File Explorer from the Play Store and then follow the same directions here: http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-sideload-apps-like-kodi-onto-the-fire-tv-using-nothing-but-the-fire-tv/

And no, devs have stated HD audio pass-through is a work in progress and there's no time frame in which it will be included. It'll happen when it happens.

You need to have a TV tuner (preferably a HDHomerun) to get channels.

RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - Schrotty - 2015-10-05

I get totday my Shield Pro and i have make the Update to 2.0 and have install Kodi 15.x Beta 3. My Problem is i dont have DD, DTS or TrueHD. I get only Multi Audio but this is not the same. If I choose passthrough then I have no audio or only noise. Whithout passthrough i have Audio but only Stereo. Whene i u use the MX Player i get DTS HD but the picture is not so good. Have the Shield a native Video Player and how can i use it? I will use TrueHD and all other Audio formats but with Kodi i can not use it :-( . Every other Android Box can use Kodi with a wrapper for use full passthroug but the Shield can not do this.

I use this to boot straight to Kodi https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.blunden.xbmclauncher&hl=en It's not booting Kodi, but using it as a home screen replacement just like any other android launcher (Nova, Go, trebuchet, etc)
