Seems like a nice guy, involved wih Dune & Mede8er (both well regarded brands) in his past. Will be getting a review unit next month & will post a detailed review. Oh yes, also asked him to comply with GPL, so hopefully Venz does. i asked codesnake about amlogic MVC support on freaktab... which doesnt look very promising at all for this venz tlbb v8... hopefully they arent just mistaken about OE and MVC codesnake Wrote:MVC doesn't supported in Kodi at all. It won't work on any Amlogic . Maybe it will be supported in Android, but I don't work on it. RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - calibos - 2015-11-27 Watched an SBS of Titanic the other night. I really can't tell the difference in PQ between it and my Frame packed Avatar for example. This is on 1080P projector projecting a 125" image with me sitting about 13ft away. Both looked incredible. I'm not going to stress about FULLHD 3D frame packed as much any more. However what I did notice a lot of when watching Titanic was judder. I thought I had everything set correctly for 23.97 playback but must have missed something. Can someone list all the Kodi settings needed to ensure 23.97hz 3D playback? RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - hdmkv - 2015-11-27 Pi2? Have 'Adjust display refresh rate to match video' enabled under Videos > Playback? RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - oldfriend - 2015-11-27 how about Nvidia Shield TV ? Can you test and rate it compare with Himedia ? Thanks frd ! RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - setumismo - 2015-11-27 Hi! can nVidia Shield TV play ISO 3D? can Kodi 16 for android plays ISO 3D? Kodi 16 for raspberry can it, but Kodi 16 for windows not. I buy today nVidia Shield TV, i tested it next week! I find HSBS very poor quality, compared to a 3D Blu-ray (or Pi 2 playing a 3D Blu-ray MKV or ISO) outputting Frame Packed 24p, on my 49" UHD TV system, which uses passive glasses. The only HSBS stuff I watch is TV off-air recordings which are 1080/50i HSBS (and have 50Hz motion). I find the reduced horizontal resolution of HSBS stuff very noticeable. (Watching 960x1080 stuff on a 3840x1080 effective display is really quite obvious) RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - Koying - 2015-11-28 HSBS is to be avoided at all costs for passive 3D TV, as you loose both resolution due to the "Half" and to the "passive", due to the 3D interlacing of passive technology. RE: Media Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - noggin - 2015-11-28 (2015-11-28, 14:51)Koying Wrote: HSBS is to be avoided at all costs for passive 3D TV, as you loose both resolution due to the "Half" and to the "passive", due to the 3D interlacing of passive technology. Only if you have a 1080p passive display. Passive on a UHD set still delivers 1080p resolution vertically (as it has 2160 lines to play with). There isn't much 4K 3D around is there? I have 3840x2160 UHD (aka 4K) TV, when I watch in 3D this delivers 3840x1080 to each eye (as each line is polarised alternately). As a result Full HD Framepacked is 1920x1080 scaled to 3840x1080, whilst HSBS is 960x1080 scaled to 3840x1080 (unless it is natively interlaced content - in that case moving HSBS content will be 960x540 scaled to 3840x1080 as 1080i degrades to 540p on motion) Ironically UHD Passive 3D sets deliver 'the best of both worlds' as you get Full HD resolution but without the flicker and cost of active glasses (and the added weight). I wouldn't watch a 3D movie with active glasses (I find the flicker too annoying) - but am fine with Passive.
