Sure, done. I need to re-test VidOn box with their XBMC v1.0.0.0. Have you? Is it indeed 1080p UI and 3D ISO plays back over SMB w/o stutters?

The UI is still 720p for me.
SMB doesn't stutter,just a little frame drop once a while.

I had some issues with dvdfab rips. Switched to anydvd and have had no probs. Try to rip the same disk with anydvd and see if it works. Demo version is free for 30 days I think.

You have to upgrade the SDK to an unreleased version to get the 1080p UI (but this is the first version of their XBMC that supports 1080P UI). I am not a tester but i got it from a post by the geekbuying website:

It seems to work OK, but aside from this, there is no other improvement to the box.

The link they provide to http://www.vidon.me/download/sdk/13/update.zip no longer works, but SDK 1.3 is still available in their forum for the 'Special Group' section for beta testers. When I last tried the 1080p SDK along with their XBMC 0.0.0.6 beta, stuttering returned, so I reverted back. Need to find some time to test with their latest XBMC v1.0.0.0, first via SDK 1.2, then via SDK 1.3.

Updated chart in post #1. Not adding Egreat A9 (which VidOn rep mentioned in another thread) yet. It relies on VidOn's custom Kodi Helix build, with 3D ISO support, but HD audio is apparently broken at this point. The box is $180, ouch... any takers to be guinea pigs?!
Egreat doesn't have an official forum; and their English website appears to be broken. Not a good sign.

Rpi2 doing mvc decode? With dts hd and true hd solutions? Stunningly good work. One question - will the pi2 output frame sequential from this mvc over hdmi as a result? If it would this breathes new life into older 3d ready projectors. if not how will it actually output over hdmi?

Not just framepacked? Frame sequential is awesome as you can then set the output to a res the projector will take and you don't need any more converters. Thus making a projector purchase hundreds of pounds cheaper. If that is the case (fs as well as fp) then that just made my day.

Thanks for that. Even framepacking is great as it only requires one converter box. But if the pi is capable of frame sequential output too then the cost of a 720 dlp 3d link projector is only about 150 on ebay which is much cheaper than one that does fp with all the processing in the projector. I will definitely be buying a pi 2 anyway now this has all been announced but if anyone here does know about fs possibilities I'd be greatly interested.
