there is little difference:
- hisilicon and himedia both are huawei company, that can be helpful for better support ( SDK < > software ) .. may be we hope :-)

What are you guys using for 3D ISO file-naming for Kodi? Per wiki, I just do something like 300 Rise of an Empire (2014).3D.iso. But, Kodi doesn't show this as a 3D movie, at least via the Artic skin I use. With the few SBS & TAB movies I have, it does with .3D.SBS or .3D.TAB in them, but seems not with just .3D for ISO's.

I do exactly the same and kodi shows nice that it is 3d
I name the folder and the actual file like that

I do it also like that. Some show up as 3D others not. I will have a look this weekend if theres some kind of difference in the isos

@hdmkv have yo tried the latest pi builds I think you would be amaze the progress they have made build 111 is working great for 3d ISO .

I think you should try this 300 Rise of an Empire.3D.ISO
It works for me.....

Are you able play a any movie with TRUEHD 5.1/7.1 Track without any issue on the Pi2?

Yes no problem with true hd I have enable pass through check and don't know if that' help. I watch like three 3d with no issue micro blocking no more.

On what what build version did you try the TRUEHD 5.1/7.1 track and is the movies in ISO format?
I am having pause freeze issues on TRUEHD 5.1/7.1 ATMOS movies.

Only my 3D files have .3D in the filename, not the folder. What's odd is it's the same format with my SBS/TAB stuff, yet they get picked up as 3D by Artic skin. When I scan, I also set to local NFO only option as I rely on tinyMediaManager to pre-populate my movie folders with moviename.nfo, folder.jpg and fanart.jpg.
It works for me.....
@Skank, thanks, I rename my folders with .3D if above doesn't work.
