Sorry for leading both of you into a trap. As mentioned earlier by @Stereodude, FLAC over HDMI is not possible. However, there are AVRs that supports pure FLAC audio decoding from local files and network streaming.

Since the specs list DSD audio decoding and passthrough, you can test that with the DSD64 samples (about the same as 24-bit 115kHz PCM) available at 2L.no. Futeko doesn't seem to list HDR10 support now. Does the SoC only support Dolby Vision HDR? If so, it will be pretty much useless.

Another work in progress in the Linux Thread

Bump libbluray to version with 3D MVC support - this is a work in progress, 3D BD ISO playback not yet working

Link!!!!

Why not post a link to the thread/post rather than quoting the entire freaking thing?

So, dev work on Linux now includes afedchin's work? Wonder if this means 3D MVC/ISO support at some point on an Intel NUC w/OpenELEC, or only RPi?

Since its on the Linux forum, i am guessing all hardware that support the new Intel media SDK, i also ask the same question to @Milhouse

Really cool if this could be the new Chromebox-like solution w/3D MVC. Will keep an eye for your i3 Skylake tests on Windows, and x86 OpenELEC w/afedchin's work. On latter, I wonder how Intel media SDK can be applied as I thought it was a Wondows-only driver or patch.

My Minix U1 review is now posted here. 3D via Minix for XBMC has the same HOU/TAB output issue as WeTek Core and other AML boxes, except Tronsmart S95 with VidOn. And, not surprisingly, the latest VidOn XBMC v15.2.2 outputs proper 3D in Minix U1, but w/o 23.976 or even 24.000 support for 3D ISO's, and at half-rez as w/all AML boxes.

DSD file not support at moment only FLAC.
There are strange effect about playback FLAC file:
when play 96hz multichannel or 192 hz there is a switch ( "click" sound ) on A/V receiver and output is 96/192hz , same effect when playback DTS/DD track .it's seems "bitstream".
when play mp3 there isn't any switch( "click" ) on A/V receiver and output is 48hz.

They list DSD in the specs, but it doesn't work? Interesting...

The "click" is just the relay kicking in for multichannel. If you press the "Display" button twice on your Onkyo AVR, it will show you the signal format on the AVR's front display panel.

It will support decoding and passthrough about DSD audio, it's working in progress device it's yet released..
Q10 pro will support both HDR10 and dolby version.

it's first time read about DSD passthrough ( i usually play music directly from may AV receiver ), which most popular format should be tested?
- .dsf or .DSF
- Super Audio CD sources ( ISO file ? )

Hi what good media box to buy for 4K and 3D

RE: Kodi Media Player Options with Full 3D & HD Audio - hdmkv - 2016-03-09

Assuming full 3D (MVC decode, render frame-packed) and full 4K (10-bit, 60fps)...

> [Soon] HiMedia Q10 Pro or Q5 Pro will be options. A few of us are helping HiMedia squash some key bugs before release 31-March and 21-April, respectively. Link.

> [Work in progress] Intel NUC w/MVC under Windows could be an option, with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI 2.0 adapter for 4K @ 60. Link.

> [Maybe in next firmware] nVidia Shield TV is a distant possibility if they add MVC support as often requested of them. Link.
