Hate when people comment 3D is dead.
Me and my wife love watching 3D movies on projector and when we watch non 3d movies we always feel dissapointed they are not 3d as lacking depth.
And its a 3D Thread.

3d is dead!
I'm looking to buy a new 55" 4k hdr TV for around £1000.
Only can find 1 half suitable LG led TV 55UH850V which isn't rated very highly on picture quality.
Or the Sony KD55XD9305BU but it costs £1500
Panasonic models have only got 8bit screens and not 10bit screens.
I'm thinking of getting the Samsung UE55KS7000 and having to forget about 3d.
Am I missing anything.

That depends. I have a passive 3D tv and an active 3D projector. I could watch 3D movies on the passive system all day long! I love it! Active 3D however is something that you watch a few times and eventually come to the conclusion that the headache and eye strain inducing strobe effect light show just isn't worth it.

Only TVs that run android can run kodi natively.

October Build working great for me also
Done the exact same testing as I did on Sept Build
3D ISO Skipping through file no audio problems
MKV HSBS
DTS HD Bitstreaming
Going through all the menus etc
So WIll be sticking with October Build for now.

When looking to buy a new TV 3d is dead.
Very few options when buying a new 4k HDR TV.
That's my point.

Well, 3D on a TV is lame anyway. You need a big angle from your eyes to the screen. And unless you're okey with sitting under a meter from your TV the only way to get a good 3D experience is a beamer.
But as I tried pointing out before: As long as there are no TVs including an embedded device that is able to run Kodi and has the capability of playing 3D ISOs this discussion is simply off-topic in a thread with the title "Kodi Media Player Options with MVC/frame-packed 3D & HD Audio"

I'm a big 3d fan, hence why I follow this thread.
I posted here because this is where all 3d chat happens, mod can move this to a new thread if that is better.
P. S. Some TVs can run kodi so are a media player.

Thanks movie78, I am considering also the Intel Nuc Skull Canyon with a combo rear speaker/TOSLINK jack, so I'll use it as mediaplayer with Kodi MVC Build (hdmkv has inserted it in the recommended hardware). I can transcode DTS to DD5.1 through rear TOSLINK jack?

Totally amazed by the picture quality difference compared to himedia q5.
3D movies look so much better and the motion blur I thought was my glasses fault is gone.
Watched Tarzan is 3d was awesome quality.
And love the skin on mvc build the infos look great.
So glad I got a new computer to use this build.
Only shame is trailers not working in Sept Build is their a fix for this or do they work in any of the other builds? I know their are addon problems
