You're still going to lose ATMOS and DTS:X though. But, once RPi2 gets 3D ISO, I may just eBay off my HiMedia, especially as there's more support for Pi.

You guys should register at nVidia's forum and add your voice to this thread. Shield has the hardware capability to support everything we want, if only they would, even as an add-on cost.

I am hold out on this one (Nvidia Shield) until i see Bitstream Audio support,then i will get rid of the Chromebox and buy the 500GB version.

I think that's a little unfair. I've not seen a timescale posted. I know ***EDIT : Deborah *** posted that she was working on it, but had been unwell. It is a non-trivial task as the way 3D Blu-ray works is a bit 'clever'...

It was Deborah, not Catherine, but yes she has been off sick for a number of weeks which has stalled progress somewhat.
There is also another possibility as Koying has been doing some work, but that is not complete.
I did hear a rumour today that Deborah was expected to return soon, so I'm crossing my fingers she'll reappear before long.

Re: RPi2, it with 3D ISO and 8-channel PCM > HiMedia. Only because it'll be an integrated experience (vs. an external player). I don't have ATMOS, and not sure I'll get it or DTS:X. Happy with 7.1, and to be honest, I had been happy with just 5.1
. But, will reevaluate both for 3D ISO and decide what to keep.HiMedia has done a nice job with Q5, especially the addition of 23.976 support recently.
