Cool , so it does hd audio + atmos in kodi? I like!
What about the 3d -> does it do 3d mvc iso? or only SBS and TAB?

Hi,It support 3D MVC ISO

Mirror88 I can see your box is outputting Truehd but on DTS-MA its only outputting DTS. Does this box bitstream DTS-MA

And, we have another player coming out, from Cloud Media (formerly Syabas, makers of Popcorn Hour), the Open Hour Gecko.

- Hisilicon 3798M chip (apparently a 'budget' version of 3798C found in Himedia Q5/Q10)
- Kodi 15 (doesn't specify how 3D is implemented via Kodi, but guessing same as what HiMedia has done)
- 3D BD-ISO
- HD audio passthrough
- Framerate sync (assuming 23.976 is supported, unsure)
- $90

Edit: The 3798M chip is same as in HiMedia's budget 3D player M3 4K.

How come these guys can make it work inside kodi without external player and others dont?

If they do support 3D MVC ISO with internal player, then they have modified Kodi source and they must release that source code due to the GPL licence.
Any idea if the their modified Kodi source has been released?

Nope, only promised as "soon".

Hi,It support 3D MVC ISO

Can you upload some video demos please?

True, however, if you answer truly hones, how many new features of a new kodi version, do you actually use?
For me, not many
The basics are always the same.
That way, maybe a fully functional kodi (for hd audio and 3d) which has a adjusted kodi version might not be that bad

I love adaptive seeking and chapter thumbnails in Kodi 15+.

If they can keep up with Kodi updates,i don't see any problem.
When Kodi Jarvis get release and it takes them a month to release their version, i think would be fine with me.

As an Android Phone user, i know how updates works?Blush

fyi they are not allowed to release it as "Kodi". They must do a full rebrand and opensource all their changes as soon as they provide builds to the public or ship the devices

RE: Player Choices with Kodi + Full 3D + HD Audio - hdmkv - 2015-09-15

Something tells me they won't comply as with VidOn. Showing off 3D/hd audio with "Kodi" is one of their key selling points. Maybe Mirror88 (who appears to be a Zidoo team member) will comment.

HDCP 2.2 is mandatory to even consider the box for Netflix 4K. The box has HDMI 2.0, but it is not clear whether it also has HDCP 2.2.

This is same thing that happen to VidOn,i think they will like to release it to you guys(Kodi),but they are worry that once it release to opensource someone will their code on their device.

If enabling HD Audio and 3D.ISO playback is their selling point for their device, I think it make sense for them not willing to release it to the public.

That's is just my 2 cents, what do i know about these stuffHuh

We don't care. GPL is GPL.
They MUST comply to the license.
