Personally, I would not get an Open Hour product, I just wouldn't. The Chromebox, on the other hand, makes one awesome Kodi box. The Celeron is absolutely sufficient if you don't need 4K HEVC.

Chromebox absolutely (i have one)

Open hour still after many months is full of bugs as all Cm/syabas product

One example: Hd audio not working and many other things

Edr. Is there any noticeable difference in performance if I upgrade the ram? Maybe 8 gb?

No. OpenElec is a lightweight Linux distribution and runs happily on a 512MB RPi.

Just get the standard 2GB one. There will be no performance difference with extra RAM for just running OpenElec / Kodi and streaming.
If you were wanting to run Windows 8.0 on the Chromebox then you would get 4GB minimum and go through this process:
