It confirms when you play mkv file, Kodi internal DVDPlayer was used instead of DSPlayer. Try press C to bring up play using menu and select DSPlayer to see if it's different.

Ok I went in and hit C and it was playing with DVDPlayer so I switched it to DSPlayer and boom, everything was working. The problem now is that once I stopped the movie and closed out of it, it defaults right back to DVDPlayer when I started the same movie back up again.

It means your default player is not set to dsplayer or your settings get messed up. Try select dsplayer as default player and delete everything in dvdplayer merit.

If it doesn't help. You might need clean install of dsplayer.

Ok. If I do a clean install should I do a search for any lingering Kodi files and wipe them all out or does that matter? Also, I did put this in my DVDpaler Merits: daap|rtv|rtmp|http|https|rtmpe|mms|rtp in the protocol call tab.

Per from this guide: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222576 says if I want to use DVDPlayer for other things like streaming and what not. However, I did clear that out and it didn't fix anything.

Clean install means delete everything (Basically Kodi folder in program files AND Appdata. Then reinstall it. If there are lingering files it wouldn't called clean right?

Well you know how Windows works. You do an uninstall yet there are still left over folders all over the place haha. So yeah, I uninstall, delete the main folders and then do a search because there always seems to be more hidden files scattered around.Big Grin

That why I said clean install not just reinstall Big Grin

I understand, but in my experience "clean install" isn't as standard as it should be in some people's minds. I was just being thorough out of habit. haha

You guys have been fantastic. Much appreciated it.

I personally don't use settings.bin now so not sure about that. It's recommend to manually config madvr again if your settings is too old. Just few minutes.
Have tried to update madvr and kodi and reset madvr Settings and copy in settings.bin. It still gives me dropped frames after updating version. I have none in lavfilter for decoder. Don't get it. Can I use the older lavfilter dll files and replace the newer. Could that be a solution for get it working like before. I have rolled back now but my other clients are 16 not 15.2

Don't copy back settings.bin , that was no point in reset settings and write over with old settings.bin. You should set madvr from scratch and see if the problem still exist.

Will try it out. It's just a lot of work since I have 3 different profiles but will try it out. If that doesn't work would it be possible to overwrite the newer dll files with the older lavfilter files or would it make it unstable?

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - tingtong5 - 2016-02-13

I fixed my "Kodi 16 is stuttering because of using more GPU resources" issue by replacing my Geforce GTX750 by a Geforce GTX960 ;-)

Reason I did so was because I noticed GPU load was already above 90% a lot with the GTX750 so I wanted to upgrade anyway,
Works fine now , apart from so now and then a crash (while fiddling around leaving exclusive mode while playing movie).

So will there ever be a kodi dsplayer final version 16 now that development has ceased?

The development on DSPlayer part had been stopped since Kodi 16 beta1. So past few builds has been compiled with only changes on main kodi part. There is no reason Kodi DSPlayer 16 Final wouldn't get released by wanilton. It's just that if there is bug it would probably never get fixed.

Kodi 17 is different matter though.
