RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Derek - 2016-03-06 I dont think you can call it final now Wanilton is putting in alot of work to give us updates RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - puithove - 2016-03-06 I can confirm that decoding 3D-MVC (in MKV) definitely works with internal filters. madVR sees the 3D, and successfully switches the OS's 3D switch, so I get frame-packed 3D output to my TV. I did have to re-rip with a more recent version of MakeMKV. I had some ripped quite a while ago that when inspecting with mediainfo, showed as being stereo, but still wouldn't be recognized as 3D on playback. Once re-ripped, they started working. It was kind of a strange deal. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Derek - 2016-03-06 Ah re-rip is a solution my 3d rips ain't doing it either, i don't use it loads (3d) but from time to time mostly kids stuff. It is not that strange if there was changes in makemkv that affects 3D compatibility. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - gotham_x - 2016-03-06 I can confirm also I that decoding 3D-MVC and internal filters LAV . 3D support rip MakeMKV v. 1.9.0 recognized frame-packed 3D during playback. Madshi advised this to rip 3D from MakeMKV , carry the original text ; 3D users please update to the latest LAV build: " This LAV build now tells madVR which order the left/right eyes have. This information is read from the MKV file. Unfortunately MakeMKV doesn't store this information yet. BUT, you can manually edit your MKV files to add this information. Here's how: Use the mkvtoolnix MKV header editor to add the field "StereoMode" to the video track. Set it to value "13" to signal that the left eye comes first. Set it to "14" to signal that the right eye comes first. Using the latest LAV build and madVR v0.90.10, your MKV files should then play perfectly without you having to toggle the "swap left/right eye" option in the madVR display properties all the time ". RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - oldpoem - 2016-03-06 I knew that rip from current MakeMKV works, but rip from earlier version seems to have compatibilty problem. You'll just need to rerip it. But for those downloaded illegal rip from internet and found it doesn't work , tough luck RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2016-03-06 (2016-03-06, 20:49)oldpoem Wrote: I knew that rip from current MakeMKV works, but rip from earlier version seems to have compatibilty problem. Most are side-by-side, which madVR doesn't support. I pirated one file and its size was something like 30+ GB. I watched it and deleted it. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Nintynuts - 2016-03-07 I was trying this build with SVP over the weekend, but ran into issues with 3D (the 3D UI wouldn't activate). More details here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=263077 I realise that most of the issues in that thread are with DSPlayer off, so I would have thought that they lie in the core codebase. If that's wrong (maybe due to the age of this build), please let me know. I see people talking about 3D UI, which I would have thought relates to my issue, but I don't know where I'm supposed to be getting this LAV build from to try. I don't use MVC frame packed files, I use Over-Under format, partly due to my passive TV and to save space, but mainly for streaming compatibility. Half and full shared frame formats work fine with the non-DSplayer version, so surely this can be made to work that way too? Cheers RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2016-03-07 (2016-03-07, 12:17)Nintynuts Wrote: I was trying this build with SVP over the weekend, but ran into issues with 3D (the 3D UI wouldn't activate). 3D support is limited to frame-packed MVC in MKV and Blu-ray disc. This is a limitation of LAV Filters and madVR. In the future, more formats may be supported, but this is not the case right now. A passive 3D display can display these sources as long as the input format is frame-packed 3D and not half side-by-side or top-and-bottom. The output format, however, can be a range of different 3D types. If you mean the UI (OSD, ...) showing on both halves of the image so that they combine when watched through 3D Glasses, that isn't implemented in Kodi DSPlayer (but it is in normal player). I asked aracnoz a long time ago about it and he said it wasn't on his list. I was hoping it could switch 3D on at the tv end automatically too, but it sounds like Kodi can't do that at all. Haven't seen that too. I "solved" this through my remote and an extra button. I don't appreciate the snarky comments. It doesn't seem like a big ask to not have to reconfigure 3D on my TV every time it turns on when 3D can be turned on via the HDMI. I actually realised that there is a very nice simple solution to my issue when not using DSPlayer, which is to set the 3D output mode to interlaced and because I'm using "just scan" on my TV it lines up perfectly with the FPR and I don't have to turn on 3D at all, just put on my glasses. No good for people with active displays though. If there was some way for SVP or the madVR/LAV component to reorganise the image into frame interlaced, then the duplicated UI for each eye wouldn't be necessary. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Talguy - 2016-03-08 @Nintybuts, have you looked into writing a script with Eventghost that queries the format of the current playing video in Kodi then adjusts your display via the Ethernet/Wifi interface? This could be a possible solution for you someone on the Eventghost forums have created a plugin for you TV and if your TV's protocol supports turning 3D on and off at the display. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Uoppi - 2016-03-08 So I guess the consensus is that it's better to rewrap Blu-Ray folders with MakeMKV etc. because apparently it's very complicated to get DSPlayer to play back the index files? No matter how I try to modify the config files, DSPlayer is giving me errors when I hit play. |
