I am on 2.1 setup and I am having problems with audio across the board. I am unsure how to set it up so that audio will play with the same sound levels with 2, 5.1, 7.1 etc. Some audio is very muffled while others play what sounds correctly to me. Also I am getting syncing issues at times it seems. I would appreciate if any one could help me with this problem.

Use Sanear, which is linked in the set up guide at the end of the filters section. Install it somewhere on your computer and choose if from DSPlayer settings.

BTW, DSPlayer is its own media player; it is not MPC-HC.

I'm sorry. I basically thought it was mpc-hc. Thank you for the reply and thank you for this player, it is a very nice alternative to the original player.

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - tetrahc - 2016-07-05

Sorry to ask this if it has been answered but I have spent many hours searching out and trying to change every setting I can that may be causing these issue to no avail.

My first issue is that Kodi DSPlayer crashes almost immediately after starting a 2160p HEVC file. These were movies which would play in standard Kodi (not ds) but not smoothly. So I was hoping to us madvr to help me out with that. A message pops up that Kodi has crashed a few frames into video.

My second issue is directly related to MadVR. I am unable to us nnedi3 (or nedi) in Kodi DSplayer. They work great in MPC but I get an error/crash pop up for madvr when starting a movie with nnedi3, or changing to nnedi3. Depending on what I click it will either close after this, or revert to Jinc. This occures for all files formats and codecs, not just HEVC like the first issue.

My system is
I5 6600k
16GB Ram
R9 390
so I feel like it is not related to my system not being able to handle nnedi3, especially since it works in MPC.

Thanks for the help.

For the first issue, try to enable display mode switching in madVR.

Turn off Adjust display refresh rate in Kodi.

Enter all of the modes for your display in madVR under display modes (2160p23, 2160p24, 2160p25, 2160p50, 2160p59, 2160p60). If use miss a display mode, the player may crash.

For NNEDI3, I don't know what could be wrong. super-xbr is almost as good as an alternative.

That is rasing money, keeping it in a "safe place" and releasing it to a deserving subject when we deem it right. I know this last portion is completely subjective, this is why I was seeking Warner306 involvement. Because people (developers) would need to trust our good faith in this. I am fairly sure of my good faith, but I can't necessarily expect others do to the same. Smile

What would you need from me?
My thinking was that if this came from two users, as opposed from a single one, it could have more chances to be taken seriously and not be thought of as a con of some sort.

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - MagikMark - 2016-07-10

Do we need to turn on kodi vsync if madvr is already using it its own vsync?

Kodi setting applies to DVDPlayer, not DSPlayer.

I think you'd be disappointed with how little money you'd raise. aracnoz said he could count on one hand the number of people who donated when he was in charge.
I've been very active on this thread (relatively speaking), you have written one of the best guides ever (it's good for any DirectShow based player, really), would you be interested in organizing this together? Just trying to do it. The way ransom model works, nothing is lost, it's not Kickstarter. If nobody steps up to the plate and delivers a working Kodi 17 DSPlayer no one spends a dime, if I remember correctly.
We could be the "judges" deciding if and when to unlock the ransom and towards whom? What do you think?

I hate to see this go without a fight. Sad

Edit:

We would need to find a service on the web providing the following:

1) Let people pledge money toward a working Kodi 17 DSPlayer.
2) See if developer(s) step up to collect the reward.
3) When/if the desired result is reached allow us to release the money collected to the delivering developer.

I am not entirely sure something like this exists, to be honest.
if i remember you were one of the first who tried the first working version of dsplayer. When i released this project 6 years ago. Its nice to see that you never gave up on it Tongue

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - gotham_x - 2016-07-11

If you return to your hand the project will mean that after six years you will be amply rewarded by ashlar, why so much hatred after six years?

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - robl45 - 2016-07-11

Honestly and this is just my personal opinion, I tried this and its pretty cool, but its essentially the same as using Kodi with MPC-HC as external player. All thats really needed is a to be able to have Kodi remotes also control MPC-HC which for me was the primary reason for trying this. I got it working although I could not get reclock to work in exclusive mode which works fine when using MPC-HC externally.

Well, that's a point of view. Another is, ppl do not want to lose Kodi (and its pretty GUI) while being able to use directshow filters.

You wouldn't happen to be interested in taking over development? Just asking...

Raising money would likely go nowhere.

Sorry don't have the time for that. I have already over 2000 hours on this project

Oh well. It should be known, DSPlayer is still used and loved.
