I really don't think tiben20 was expressing hatred, you know Smile

To Warner306, raising money would not go anywhere? I don't know, it really would depend on the amount of money I think. Personally I'd be down for 100 $/€, I don't know about anybody else, obviously. If we managed to get 20-30 people interested and willing to donate, it could lead to some interesting proposal. Clearly one needs to already have a passion for developing and/or Kodi but still, it would be an incentive.

To tiben20 I can only express gratitude for everything he's done. Let's not forget that his input/inspiration was instrumental in Nevacariel's LAV Filters too. Smile

I got it working although I could not get reclock to work in exclusive mode which works fine when using MPC-HC externally.
Hmmm... no? Big Grin

There's a lot of integration you lose when going MPC-HC. Also, the filters configuration, with rules and everything, aracnoz came up with is, to my knowledge the most powerful solution of its own kind in the DirectShow world. I might be mistaken, but I've tried my share of players.

Well, that's a point of view. Another is, ppl do not want to lose Kodi (and its pretty GUI) while being able to use directshow filters.

Yes, the gui is pretty cool.

Well, anyway, one way or the other, time taught me to wait, DSPlayer was taken and raisen again time after time by different people, when I thought it was over already. So I keep my hopes.

Yes indeed it will.

yeah, really hope someone else picks up the mantel on DSPLAYER but i'd be satisfied with MVC frame packed playback in KODI officially, I can live without MADVR as I dont need to up / down scale anything.

I really thought this was going to happen, Full MVC in KODI I mean, but it seems to have stalled, KODI should really move to LAV filters from FFMPEG.

LAV filters use ffmpeg.Nevcairel did some modification to ffmpeg to fit is need but it use at 95% ffmpeg

do you think there a reason the KODI devs arent baking full frame packed 3D into Krypton then?, I know 3d is said to he on its way out but there are still millions of fans of 3d and new movies are still coming out all the time.

ill read about it and tell you exactly why its not done yet.

update: MVC the extension of h264 that allow multiple views is still in early stage and is not incorporated in the main branch of ffmpeg yet.

update 2: Also the multiple frame stucture is not implemented in libavcodec. Explication: 3d stereo is simple since the timestamp (the exact time when the image as to be displayed) of the image is not same. In stereo frame come with the information that describe wether its the left or right image. In the case of a full frame packed 3d image the current code of ffmpeg as to be modified to be able to handle several frame into a single frame. From what i seen every solution they have for the incorporation of multiple frame structure are causing downstream bugs. This mean application that keep their ffmpeg up to date would have a lot of problems updating to the last ffmpeg version. Just to clarify the frame is what contain every information about the image that is about to be displayed. I hope it did help you. Im not the best at explaining things simply. Not everybody have 20 years of experience in c++ like i do.

RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - huhn - 2016-07-17

ffmpeg isn't used for 3D playback in lavfilter libmfxsw64.dll is used.

and even a BD with 1080p displayed at 1080p is scaled.

why dont kodi fully switch to LAV, seems to me they are more stable and get updated more often

It's because Kodi is a cross platform application and LAV filters on support Windows. Same reason as why the DSPlayer branch isnt supported by official Kodi team
