Anyone know why that is the case? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2017-03-03 (2017-03-03, 11:45)Jayedog Wrote:Yes. Because the subtitles size is proportional to the video window's size.(2017-03-02, 18:16)ashlar Wrote: I use Sanear. To adjust lipsynch you need to configure LAV Filters Audio. I solved this with a set of rules, while alternating between vsFilter and Xysubfilter. But that works for me because I tend to watch movies only in hi-res (and movies are the ones with black bars). So vsFilter (which does not have the problem) is used when black bars are present, while xySubfilter is used when there are no black bars. Unfortunately it's a sorry state of things of which I'm sadly aware. This sounds cool and use for everyone else. Can you post your rules file for us to use / base our own rules on? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2017-03-03 Sure. mediaconfig.xml Wrote: The idea is to use xysubsfilter (that renders at high resolution independently from video resolution) for videos that fill the top and bottom portion of the screen. Tipically 1.33 (4:3) content is low resolution, but subs are rendered in high res, thanks to xysubsfilter. Directvobsub_(auto-loading_version) is used for content that does not fill the bottom portion of the screen. For me that is typically hi-res content, so subs are rendered in hi-res anyway. Your mileage might vary in this regard. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - pagali - 2017-03-03 (2017-03-03, 21:03)ashlar Wrote: Sure. This is encouraging! This subtitle oddity is the one thing that's been keeping me from using DSPlayer exclusively. Curious about one thing... is there a reason not to use directvobsub for everything? I've used it with ZoomPlayer for years. And if not, how would I set that up in DSPlayer? ETA: Never mind, I got it to work! You gave me the hint I needed. Thank you so much! RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jayedog - 2017-03-03 (2017-03-03, 21:03)ashlar Wrote: Sure. Ashlar thanks for this. It should def solve the sizing issue. I've used it with ZoomPlayer for years. And if not, how would I set that up in DSPlayer? I solved the same problem differently, in a way that dsplayer is always using xysubfilter. I created a media rule to play all file types using lavsplitter, lavvideo, lavaudio, xysubfilter, and ffdshow raw video filter as an "extra filter". You can download that filter from here and then add it to dsplayer in "filters configuration" under filters management. ffdshow raw filter has an option (and is the only one that I use) to resize your videos while keeping aspect ratio. So, in simple terms, it can "add" black bars, making your video renderer think all your media is, for example, in 16:9. Your movies will look the same but now the subs will have the same size in any scenario. I know you have everything sorted out, but someone might be interested in this alternative. Which makes them kind of ugly to watch. I thought about doing it, back then, decided against it because I feared the extra computational aspect of that and the potential to throw a "wrench" in a well oiled mechanism. But my fears are probably unfounded and this looks definitely as a working solution (with the added advantage of giving you hi-res subs even for SD 1.78/1.85/2.35:1 material). RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ThePower43 - 2017-03-04 Dear community, I'm currently in the final phase of setting up my Kodi 17.0.1 + DS Player (+ madVR) configuration. There are two main problems left for me and I would be very happy if you can help me with this. Lets start with my configuration and hopefully all required sofware versions: My system: Intel Core i3-7350K 8 GB Corsair DDR4-2666 Mhz Ram Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI Windforce with driver version 378.66 Windows 10 Pro x64 AV-Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1131 Software versions and configuration: 1. When I try to play a movie the DSPlayer is switching in to the fullscreen mode, my display is black for 2-3 seconds (this is fine, I can see on my receiver that the display mode is switched) but then the DS player is showing up like this: watch gallery
As you can see on my screenshot the player is not switching correclty into the fullscreen mode and the windows taskbar is always visisble. If I hit "alt + enter" then the player is switching into the correct fullscreen mode without showing the windows taskbar anymore. Did I do something wrong configuration wise or what do I need to do in order to fix this problem? 2. My second problem is related to viewing 3D movies. I have a Samsung TV with active 3D (plus shutter 3D glases), and everytime I try to watch a movie in 3D the DS player is not switching into the correct mode as well. This happens even when I force the TV with my remote into the 3D mode via 3D button. What do I need to setup here to get it work.? Thanks in advance for your help! RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - kusanagi - 2017-03-04 (2017-03-04, 16:28)ashlar Wrote:(2017-03-04, 04:14)kusanagi Wrote: I solved the same problem differently, in a way that dsplayer is always using xysubfilter. That's quite clever! I had the same fear, but at least in my case I didn't notice an increase in CPU usage . I'm using kodi dsplayer x64 btw. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2017-03-04 kusanagi, mind walking everybody through the steps you take to achieve what we seek with ffdshow raw? I think you go to the "Resize & aspect" tab and activate resize, using "Specify aspect ratio" and setting it at 16:9. Then go to the borders submenu, activate "Outside" borders, leaving Percent at 0%, Dividing borders at 50 for both Vertical and Horizontal and Brightness at 0 (we want black bars, not grey ones). Is this correct? The only doubt that I have with this setup is that something happens to the picture itself. It doesn't appear like it but... I'm not sure the resize algorithm, once activated, is smart enough not to work on the whole picture. Which might be fine and dandy for 1080p 1.85/2.35:1 material (as the video portion won't be resized) but... let me check with SD stuff fullscreen (1.78). Yes, ok... with SD stuff, everything seems fine if you have black borders to add. But if you don't have borders to add, unfortunately, ffdshow's rescaling algorithm will activate for the video content, bypassing madVR's more advanced one. My suggestion is to combine your approach with mine, activating ffdshow raw only in case there are black bars, so only for 1.85|2.20|2.35|2.40 aspect ratios. Lets start with my configuration and hopefully all required sofware versions: Try disabling Windows overlay, fullscreen exclusive mode, use a separate device and DX11 presentation path. Try different combinations. Fullscreen exclusive mode must be disabled from Kodi. Did you enable anything in zoom control? Also, you could let Kodi handle refresh rate switching rather than madVR. As for 3D, I don't know. You might be better off using MPC-HC or Kodi VideoPlayer for 3D videos. Are you sure the input is MPEG4-MVC and not side-by-side or something else? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - grossbard - 2017-03-04 (2017-03-03, 01:53)grossbard Wrote: I have a strange problem. Any files I play with a DTS-HD MA audio track drops frames every second, but Dolby TrueHD and DD are fine. When I play the same file in mpc-hc (also with madVR), there are no dropped frames. I am bitstreaming and using wasapi output to my receiver. Any advice? Installed sanear and it's working great now. |
