RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - vicmanpergar - 2018-03-02 About wasapi, I think if u use reClock audio renderer u can set it to use wasapi, and I think with Sanear too. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-02 here is my system: HTPC: Motherboard, Gigabyte GA-990X-Gaming SLI Graphics Card, Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050ti 4gig G1 Processor, AMD FX 4300 Processor cooling, Cooler Master Masterliquid Pro 240 Memory, Kingston 8GB DDR3-1866 CL9 OS HDD, Samsung PM961 128gig M.2 PCIe NVMe Storage, 5x 4tb HDD’s Case, Coolermaster Mastercase Pro 5 Power Supply, EVGA Supernova 650 G2 AV Amplifier: Yamaha RX-V677 (updated firmware for 4k passthrough) TV: LG 65UJ634V 65" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED Cables: HDMI 2.0 spec. OS: Windows 10 Pro Creators Edition ‘de bloated’ Kodi is the only program installed as its just for playing movies not connected to internet as i dont need it to be Kodi: kodi-17.6-Krypton_DSPlayer-x64 Latest madvr Movie Files: All original 1-1 rips using MakeMKV (all metadata for movies/tv shows are stored local inside separate folder) .... yes i have HDR set to passthrough. i might try plugging the htpc straight into the tv tonight so as to rule out the AV amp. .... i was just looking at reclock, might give it a try. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-02 (2018-03-02, 17:42)mclingo Wrote: There are a few things you need to enable in MADVR to get HDR working too, like DIRECT3d 11aaahhhh.. i turned that off IIR as i thought it was for 3d. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-03-02 so its working now? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Schneitizel - 2018-03-03 Hey ! One day, you will add support bluray ? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-03 (2018-03-02, 23:20)mclingo Wrote: so its working now?nope. could not get kodi-dsplayer to work. what does work is kodi-MPC-BE without any LAV, Reclock or madvr. picture quality using this is simply stunning (no more 'dulling' of picture with 4k content), no frame rate dropouts or sound dropouts. jellyfish 400 10 bit plays smooth as silk as does 'demo' clips. all files change hz rate to what ever is playing. as does the bit depth. if the file is 10bit 60hz then thats what it plays at, if its 10bit 24hz it plays at that etc.etc. processor is using no more than 20% and 1050ti no more than 30% resources when playing 4k. now i'm not using any 'plugins' MPC-BE works as should when exiting back to kodi. so to sum it up kodi plus MPC-BE (as it comes) works perfect no matter the content and everything 'auto switches'. its also very fast at start of playback, about 1-2 seconds. thanks for all your help and its much appreciated :-) RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-03-03 so MPC-BE does envoke your TV's HDR preset then automatically? by the way, the 64 bit version is buggy anyway, try and stick to 32 bit path throughout. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-04 (2018-03-03, 14:57)mclingo Wrote: so MPC-BE does envoke your TV's HDR preset then automatically?**the only movie i have at the moment is guardians 2 which i believe is not HDR** not tried that yet but i doubt the av amp will pass it as its not hdcp 2.2. its not triggering the HDR when playing demo clips such as eye of storm, wonderland or rays of light. the demos do look stunning though. i fiddled with the 4k passthrough last night so not had a chance to test HDR content. the result with configuring the amp 4k passthrough was a revelation it terms of PQ. so it might have been that all along. plans for tonight. plug HTPC direct into tv to test HDR playback. plug usb into tv to test demo clips to see if it triggers HDR playback. add madvr and for HDR passthrough and test HTPC again via tv and amp. if HDR triggers without the amp then its new amp time... lol RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-04 done a bit of testing. as i suspected HDR wont pass through the amp even with madvr. HDR wont engage with just standard MPC-BE with HTPC connected direct to the TV HDR will engage with madvr and MPC-BE with HTPC connected direct to TV. but it wont turn the HDR off again after playback has been stopped and i have to exit back to the desktop and turn HDR off in the display properties. turning off send metadata to tv results in a black or green screen. I am using the same GPU and until recently had no problem with HDR. I am have a few issue at the moment with all video's not playing not sure what it is , they play fine with the standard video player just not the DS player, watched a movie ok one night the following night nothing would play not sure what happened , did something update in window or perhaps a plugin ? I am not sure RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-03-04 Hi, just did a bit of research on your amp, its not a fully HDMI 2.0 spec amp, it was firmware updated to passthrough but it doesnt support HDR. Plug you PC direct into the TV and if you have a second HDMI output plug that into the reciever for sound, that way you'll be able to get HD sound, if use ARC you'll lose DTS-HD, DTSX, ATOS etc. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn2n0he0fvnmkx6/Screenshot%202018-03-04%2013.26.30.png?dl=0 post 617 RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-04 (2018-03-04, 17:22)m0v1em4n Wrote: What video driver are you using?the latest from Nvidia. 384.76-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Bibio - 2018-03-04 (2018-03-04, 17:36)mclingo Wrote: Hi, just did a bit of research on your amp, its not a fully HDMI 2.0 spec amp, it was firmware updated to passthrough but it doesnt support HDR. I think they have a clue and have had one for a long time now. What software does or doesn't do with them, is another story. I'm not sure you understand how HDR works? For one thing, when using with MPC players and related components, Windows HDR switch has zero to do with anything. That's why we always leave it off and never activate it. You might notice it doesn't even switch on when playing in HDR and it shouldn't using this method or others such as DVDFab player. I don't know about your Xbox but this forum has nothing to do with that. The NVidia API integrated with madVR for various compliant players like MPC turn on/off HDR mode automatically as intended. So does DVDFab. Early drivers as HDR developed were iffy at times but has been stable for quite some time now. If you're having problems, I don't think Nvidia or MS are responsible much less clueless. |
