RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Slurm - 2019-02-06 (2019-02-06, 16:11)Jachin99 Wrote: I'm not ready to give up just yet. Kodi DS still does a lot of what I need, and I can always just throw up a next pvr instance on a spare pc to try things out.If it works with vanilla kodi, just set a rule under videoplayer merits and choose protocol pvr for it. For me this works with dvbviewer. LGs simply do better with near-black when fed limited range. All LGs that I've owned have been this way. Anyway, off topic and not a big deal for me. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-06 I just setup a nextpvr, and it seems to work fine with the default skin but I still don't get a madvr tray icon for TV like I do movies and I havent tried any other skins. Is there a way to dump my codec list and post it on here as it pertains to only kodi ds? To be clear, live TV works just fine but I'm not sure MadVR is set as the renderer. One more question, would anyone know if ffmpeg, or LAV tray icons should be showing up for live TV via my PVR? I know I need a splitter (Like LAV) for MKVs but I'm not sure if I need one for mpeg2. I don't get tray icons for any splitters, decoders or renderers for live TV which makes me think kodi is using the build in MS decoder. Pressing O in KODI will show you whats doing what as well, well I think, it does for playing files. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-06 I don't believe so, or at least it didn't before but I'll double check not that I have changed my PVR backend. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-06 It looks like its almost setup correctly, depending on the channel. Some channels show madvr for the renderer, while others don't. I get a mix of ffmpeg, and directx for the video decoder depending on the channel. The ffmpeg channels show madvr as the renderer. I'm not sure what the difference is for the channel but they're mostly HD, and the each channel I just tried out was HD. Edit: Here is a little more info, when I change my skin to bello 6, I get a tuner not found for some of the same channels that are using the DirectX decoder but channels that use ffmpeg seem to work just fine in my quick test. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2019-02-07 Have you tried Aeon Nox Silvo? It is likely updated more frequently and less likely to have these bugs: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/26-home-theater-computers/2215490-madvr-player-support-thread-18.html#post57357744 RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-07 I tried that skin as well, and I have similar issues. Its hard to even describe them because each skin is a little different in terms of which widgets I can play live TV from. I just spent a little more time looking into this, and I still have a lot of issues. The only way I can get TV working consistently is to disable DS player. If I do that, my widgets, guide, and channel lists all work correctly. With DS player enabled, I can select a channel from a recent channels widget and it will tune that channel. If I start kodi with live tv playing, and change the channel from the guide or channels list then Kodi changes the channel, and everything plays. If I stop live TV at any point, and pick a channel from either a channel list, or the guide the channel won't play under DS player but if I pick a channel from a channel widget with DS Player, the channel plays. I might start asking about this in some of the other forums but before I do that I want to at least be able to play TV, and video files. Is there a way to set DS Player as the default, and create a rule where live tv uses the built in player for the time being? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2019-02-07 Sure: 1. Select VideoPlayer merits from the DSPlayer menu. Choose Add new merits rule... 2. Delete any existing fields and add the following rule to the Protocols field. 3. Copy and paste the text below as written: daap|rtv|rtmp|rtmpe|mms|rtp|rtsp If the content is http|https, you would also have to add those protocols. 4. Select Save rule changes. 5. Kodi must be restated for changes to take effect. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-07 I'll start there, thanks. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-08 I'm having a little more luck now. I installed Kodi ds player on a newly rebuilt Win 10 machine, setup my next pvr client, and added a few modifications to mediasconfig, and a few other xml files, and I get the madvr tray icon for live TV. So now I at least have a working, correct baseline to go off of for my other PCs. I'll still have to see how stable this is, and I get a little bit of a blinking issue when I activate OSDs so I'll be looking to troubleshoot that soon. Thanks for all of the suggestions from warner, and slurm, and everyone else. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - bkrieger - 2019-02-08 I just have quick question. I am using DS Player Kodi 17, and I was wondering if anyone will be releasing a Kodi 18 DS Player. I would want to upgrade to Kodi 18, but not at the expense of losing DS Player. I like the Madvr features Thanks RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Jachin99 - 2019-02-08 No word on that so far so I don't think anyone can say yes or no. If you NEED an answer then I would go with no until someone who is willing to make the code changes says otherwise. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - bkrieger - 2019-02-09 No problem. Thanks for the reply. I do not need an answer right away nor would I expect a release of there is one to be this soon after Kodi 18 is released. One more question- are most of you just staying with the Kodi 17 release of DS Player or upgrading to Kodi 18 and moving on from DS Player? Thanks again |
