RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 16.0) - movie78 - 2015-10-22

I use winscp to login in kodi
Username: root
password: openelec

The raspberry is not allowing me to copy file to usr/share/kodi/addons directory.

I have no issue using the same method with my Chromebox/KodiBuntu.

Any Help?

This is by design.
Openelec root fs is read-only.
Copy your files to /storage/.kodi/addons

@BubbleBobble

Sorry - I put my response in the wrong area.

That is what happens to me if the GUI is set to 23.976 or 24hz. Try setting the GUI to 50Hz

It worked.

Thank you!

Can Play 3D be added to the Video playback default settings?

SETTINGS-->VIDEO-->DISC-->BLU-RAY PLAYBACK MODE---PLAY 3D

Thanks!

Question about Official 7" touchscreen and IQaudio DigiAMP+

I am using the latest nightly build with the DigiAMP+ and touchscreen - everything is working really well using KODI/openelec as a music player and internet radio.
Touchscreen is accurate and reasonably responsive. Long press activates right click as expected.

One question - is there any way to control the volume of the DIGIamp+ from the touchscreen? The only way I've found to turn the volume up and down is to use a wifi remote on my phone.

Regarding the tvheadend builds, should they only be used with the matching OE build, i.e. #1015 with #1015?

That combination seems quite robust for me and the tuner hasn't been disappearing like it was before (touch wood!), so naturally I'm cautious about updating. Are there any actual changes in the later tvh builds, or are they just built to be compatible with the matching OE build? If there are significant changes, is there a changelog anywhere so that I can check whether it looks worthwhile updating before I chance it?

They're not matched, as such - you can update the tvheadend addon whenever you want, and use pretty much any version you like. Although unless you've got a specific reason to use an older tvheadend addon, you should just use the latest tvheadend version when updating the addon.

Now that the OpenELEC FTP server shows the date/time for each file it does tend to make the build reference (ie. #1022) that I'm adding to the filename somewhat redundant, as the main reason for adding it was simply to determine which file is most recent (as it wasn't always obvious).

Great work !

Milhouse, how to test audio DSP function with addons: adsp.basic, adsp.biquad.filters, adsp.freesurround,.. ?

They're not included in these builds... maybe you can download them, not sure. For a while they wouldn't even build, and if they did build they crashed, so I stopped building them. I need to check them again.

Thanks to @lrusak it's once again possible to build the latest ADSP addons as part of OpenELEC builds, but unfortunately the ADSP addons continue to be highly unstable (certainly on RPi/RPi2) and will not be included in my builds for the time being.

Update my Pi 2 to Build #1021

TRUEHD Tracks are having hard time playing back audio and some of the movies have green pixellation.

Yes, that's something I'd like to do. I'd prefer a global setting to the "play using 3d" currently added to the BluRay playback menu (which isn't available when resuming).

Need more info. A sample file that shows the problem would be best. Otherwise a debug log (wiki) and/or mediainfo for the file may be useful.
Details about when you see the pixellation (continuously, or just after seeking? When watching 3d or 2d? A picture/video of the pixellation occurring may be informative).

Please Do.

It help just press play and the movie start instead going to the simple menu.
