The XML files just point to the correct http archive, and you can easily change the URL to a local server. You would still need to populate the XML file with all of your own metadata, correct? Is there a minimum set of fields that are needed, or are all required in order to display a game? The XML files just point to the correct http archive, and you can easily change the URL to a local server. All the metadata is independent of the source of the game files. I'm actually working on a second project just to provide the metadata for Kodi / Retroplayer once the ability to scrape games is implemented. Using a local server is pretty similar to hosting the games on your own google drive or dropbox share. I've updated the wiki accordingly here. RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - Izilla20 - 2017-06-01 Installed the IARL on Kodi 17.3 for windows and followed all setup instructions, but isn't working. RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - kpop - 2017-06-02 is there any eta on when the update will be out, looking forward to trying out mame and fba, also im in the process of catching the boxart on each platform, would the images be wiped on installing the future update. Most of the updates are in github already, just need to test a bit more, but archive.org seems like its down this evening. The artwork is pretty static, and cached by Kodi so if you're system already downloaded the image, it wouldn't have to again after an update. RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - kpop - 2017-06-02 how would i go about getting the update from github, as im on the current latest, or is it already merged in to it. RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - lefty420 - 2017-06-03 Just tried the latest git awesome work again dude! Thanks for the c64 update that's going to keep me busy for months. I'm using 18 (ubuntu) with both retroarch and retroplayer if you want any testing done of the "new addon" let me know. RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - zachmorris - 2017-06-06 Version 1.6.3 should be available now in the repo. Changes include: Updated Final Burn Alpha to latest version set (v 0.2.97.40) Updated MAME and multiple MESS sets to latest available version (v0.185 non-merged set) Fixed bug in wizard for Kodi / retroplayer setup (thanks MrTarantula) Updated function to check for bad file(s) returned by archive.org - more verbose in failure now Updated external launch functions for linux systems, add-on will now look for the libretro core path (linux has lots of places it could be depending on the OS, thanks to lpenz) Updated Commodore 64 to new archive for use with new retroarch core (VICE) (~4400 Games Filtered, ~24000 Games Filtered - holy cow C64 had a lot of games) Any bugs found please let me know RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - kpop - 2017-06-06 Thanks for the update, great work, I'm getting a error, archive returned no file or requires login. When I try to play FBA RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - RedDiablos - 2017-06-06 as Kpop sez login error, also good work . all hail Zach RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - zachmorris - 2017-06-06 (2017-06-06, 12:06)kpop Wrote: Thanks for the update, great work, I'm getting a error, archive returned no file or requires login. Tried logged in and not logged in and both worked for me, trying about 10 different games. The old listing was depreciated, but the new one shipped with 1.6.3 is working (for me). If you have updated, can you provide a debug log? RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - RedDiablos - 2017-06-06 hi tx for the reply Zach, will do an error log when I figure out how, but....I have some info about fba archive example 1944: loop master game aka 1944j.zip returns " archive returned no file or requires login" RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - RedDiablos - 2017-06-06 debug log win7 kodi iarl first half deleted RE: Internet Archive ROM Launcher - zachmorris - 2017-06-07 (2017-06-06, 23:37)RedDiablos Wrote: debug log win7 kodi iarl I don't think debug logging was enabled, but as far as I can tell, you tried 4 games. 1 of them failed (4enraya.zip). I tried this same game and it worked for me, so can't explain why it didn't work. Possibly your connection? |
