Crash when opening guide - S4Rs - 2015-07-23

On Ubuntu and just upgraded to 15. Everything seems to work but when I try to bring up the guide kodi crashes....

I did not wipe away my .kodi folder before the upgrade. I will try that as a last resort. I have a feeling the epg database is corrupt. I tried clearing the database several times though from the livetv settings and no difference. Channels and recordings are fine. Just guide is broke.

I'm impatient. I blew away userdata. Time to rebuild it and not install half the plugins I don't use anyways this time.

I'm experiencing a similar issue: when calling EPG, Kodi 15 crashes. There were no such issues in Kodi 14, they only began after upgrade to Kodi 15.

Anyone have any ideas how to resolve? I've tried clearing EPG cache, and PVR cache but to no avail.

I would try to find where the myth plugin stores everything in the .kodi folder and delete it all. You really don't need kodi to store info anyways because it pulls down everything at startup and it only takes a few seconds. There is an option to not store epg in kodis database as well which may work. If all else fails blow up your .kodi folder. Its like starting over with your children and its great.

pvr.mythtv addon doesn't store anything about EPG. Seems this issue is new with last changes included in Kodi 15 before its releasing. Here i never see it for now. I sugger you to open a track with your crash log attached. Also i am interesting you send me the full crash log. Thanks.

EDIT: @andrewj720 your crash log please. I need only the "STACK TRACE" part. No need log part.

Thanks folks. I will later today delete some more files in ~/.kodi to see if it fixes the problem. And I will send STRACE TRACE part of log files to you Janbar, too. Many thanks for replies.

This is likely not a MythTV related issue, it seems to be Kodi PVR in general as I worked that out with FernetMenta in VNSI sub-forum.

It could be, but here kodi crash with segfault in EPG::CGUIEPGGridContainer::UpdateItems(). That's mean a pointer is invalid or freed during operations. I am waiting a new stack trace to confirm it.

Problem is now resolved but I'm unsure how.

EPG now works fine without crashing Kodi. I didn't change any settings so am unsure what has changed to resolve the problem.

Do you guys use channel icons? If so turn them off and test again.
