Yeah...have fun with it...and next time, if you can't start a software from command line, maybe try to install it:

Code:
sudo apt-get install kodi

might have solved that little problem Wink

Now that Jarvis is out, I can't upgrade to version 15.2 from the base distro of 14.0. Is there a way to install v15.2?

RE: Where to get Kodibuntu 15 ? - yite - 2016-02-27

Thanks for the reply. I read that post and followed it combined with this post http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=254620&highlight=downgrade+15.2

dist-upgrade to 16
purged kodi
installed kodi 15.2

So i think that's all good but I can't get the autologin to work. it sits at the login screen and when I log in the screen goes black and then just shows the login screen again.

Now i'm here: http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Autostart_Kodi_for_Linux
trying to get lightdm.conf to autolog me in

It would be easier if I could dist-upgrade kodi=2:15.2

**As I say that, would it work to

add the kodi-old ppa
remove the team-xbmc ppa
then do a dist-upgrade?

RE: Where to get Kodibuntu 15 ? - chemsed - 2016-09-12

The way kodibuntu is handled is really not appealing. I go to kodi.tv/download and I don't see kodibuntu. I have to click other release at the bottom of the page to find it. Then, I have to update the software immediately after the installation and maybe the OS. On the marketing aspect, I receive that implicit message: kodibuntu is not important and we don't actively support it.

RE: Where to get Kodibuntu 15 ? - fritsch - 2016-09-12

In fact we currently don't support kodibuntu anymore and it should be removed from the download page. It is totally outdated and does not run on recent hardware anymore.

Could one create a new version by installing ubuntu/kodi and then running virt-sysprep against it?

Was just googling around and came across that command (never tried it).

Sorry, just to be absolutely clear now, you're saying that KodiBuntu is no longer supported / developed / maintained?

Ie, don't use it?

Thanks, Dave
