RE: Rooster Teeth - Abolfazl - 2018-04-04

Found a way to get list of videos based on Channels or Series. Only issue I am running into is generating an Authorization Bearer header

Edit: Skipmodea1 has already made the commits @ https://github.com/skipmodea1/plugin.video.roosterteeth. I manually installed it and can confirm it works

Edit: Instead of using `display_title` can you just use `title`? Having a Season and Episode number kind of ruins the title format

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-04-05

Sure, changed it to title and made a new PR.

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-04-05

A new version should be available in kodi in a day or two:

1.3.8 (2018-03-30)
- major rewrite due to revamped website

Thanks for the help/suggestions all.

RE: Rooster Teeth - IamGimli - 2018-04-06

Thanks Skipmode! Is there any way I can send you my First membership fee this month? You did what RT won't to make sure the content we pay for can actually be seen, you deserve it!

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-04-06

I'm glad you like the addon Smile. Thanks for the gesture, appreciate it.

But if you want you can donate something to all us guys and girls that make kodi possible: https://kodi.tv/contribute/donate

Cheers!

RE: Rooster Teeth - Irishbelle34 - 2018-04-06

I love you!! Now I can enjoy my videos again since the site doesn't work on my tv and they still haven't answered my email after a week...

Btw I don't know if anyone else is having issues but playing videos on 1080P causes my videos to studder and not match up with them talking, as in the talking is normal but the videos all look like they are suffering major lag. I don't, however, have that issue on just watching them do their off topic videos. I did switch down to 720 and it seems to have fixed the issue so I'm not really sure what the issue is.

Also is only roosterteeth supposed to have the option by series as all the other channels only show recently added videos

yeah, it's like that on the site. The series are series of the the roosterteeth site, not just series of the roosterteeth show.

If there's any chance you could post a debug log from a time when you are playing a 1080p video, we might be able to figure it out. https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Easy

RE: Rooster Teeth - Irishbelle34 - 2018-04-06

I'll have to check and send it later. Also there is no next page though I suppose that's probably because the site is like that too?

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-04-07

Yeah, the site has no next-page option. It shows the last 30 items.

Thanks for the link!

I also have another comment/suggestion. I see that First member content now specifies "Sponsored video" at the end of the video title. Is that something that you add or is it how the titles are formatted on the new site? If it's something you add I would recommend adding an asterisk at the beginning of the title instead of that string at the end, for two reasons; first is that I think RT tries to keep the term "sponsored" reserved for videos that actually include sponsored content from a commercial entity like they've done in the past with Ubisoft or Tide (that's why their subscription service is called First! now) and second, sometimes the end of the title is hidden if your screen doesn't have a wide enough resolution. Having an asterisk at the beginning addresses both issues and is simple to explain in the addon's description.

Anyway, great work again, please keep it up!   Love

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-04-07

Hmm, reading your comments back i realise it should have been 'Sponsor-only video'. But an asterisk at the start sounds better, i'll change it in the next version.

RE: Rooster Teeth - Irishbelle34 - 2018-04-08

My problem with videos lagging on the app isn't the app. Apparently it was my raspberry Pi as I switched to my new one and all is fine. So thanks again! Just so happy I can finally watch the videos

RE: Rooster Teeth - Skipmode A1 - 2018-05-16

1.3.9 (2018-05-15)
- renamed series category
- prefix the titles of sponsor-only videos with an asterisk
- using news tag in addon.xml

RE: Rooster Teeth - IamGimli - 2018-10-13

Is it just me or is the addon almost unusable now? Every video stutters and eventually stops playing altogether. The lower quality setting I use, the worse it is.

I wonder if they changed something server-side that breaks streaming from the addon.

It's pretty universal too as it shows the same behaviour from Kodi on my phone, on my tablet, on my Nexus Player and on my Mi Box. The Rooster Teeth app streams without issues though so it's not a bandwidth issue either (I have gigabit Internet anyway).
