RE: Eminence 2.0 - leros2004 - 2019-02-11

Hi to all, i just started to use eminence skin, it is great. The only thing is missing for me is the option to add a startup delay for the skin. The black glass nova has this option and you can adjust from 0 sec to 10 sec. Can it be added or at least any tip so i can edit the settings of the skin ?

What is the purpose of delaying the start of the skin?

Good question, the main reason is that some addons that i use (for widgets in the skin) needs some seconds to start. so every time i start kodi i have to reload the skin (after the addons are loaded) for the widgets to work proper.

RE: Eminence 2.0 - drewdenman - 2019-02-18

I just upgraded to 18.1 and I don't see the skin in the official Repo at all. Is there some sort of bug or something that causes it not to show?

RE: Eminence 2.0 - starkman - 2019-02-18

@jurialmunkey
Is there any way for us (or you) to create / add a "Boot to Android" option on the Power Menu, for everyone that uses Eminence 2.0 on CoreElec / LibreElec setups?
The default Kodi (17, 18) skin has that option (on CoreElec).
Would be much appreciated !

 Yeah it seems as incompatible.

It's definitely on the repo:
https://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/leia/skin.eminence.2/

Check that the skin isn't disabled in
Addons > My Addons > Look and Feel > Skin > Eminence.

Skin Settings > Miscellaneous > Customise shutdown menu

Add an item with the action:
System.ExecWait("/usr/sbin/rebootfromnand")

I have no idea if that works as I don't use Android - looks like a custom LibreElec command. Got it from this thread:

In my case with Leia 18.1 it was shown as enabled but not compatible. The error message said that it's not compatible with this version of Kodi. A few days ago with 18 version I did not have such issue.

Thanks, I will try it.

I just tested and was able to install Eminence from official repo on v18.1 (win x64) no problems at all.

A debug log would be useful.

Thank you.
I should have found it myself.

Just in case anyone else needs it, too, allow me to clarify that this does not actually work directly. You also have to press reboot as a 2nd step.
So let's say you have created the Power Menu item called "Reboot to Android" (as you described).
Then if you press only this, nothing happens.
You have to press Reboot afterwards, for the device to actually reboot to Android.

RE: Eminence 2.0 - Miff - 2019-02-23

With kodi 18 Leia, the option to browse for subtitles is gone. With 17 it was accessible while playing a video by choosing the audio setting. That is now gone I've spent some time to find another way but without any luck.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Running on Android Xiaomi Mi Box with Android 8, kodi 18 latest.

@jurialmunkey, Is it possible to add two or more consecutive actions within an item ?
As I stated on another post of mine ( https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=237538&pid=2825316#pid2825316 ), the action System.ExecWait("/usr/sbin/rebootfromnand") does not by itself reboots to Android / Nand, so we also need to press "reboot" after that.

If I'm getting it right, and judging by these links:
https://github.com/CoreELEC/CoreELEC/blob/855c3407753115ba8e91333ab26a59fe10c5ddc4/packages/mediacenter/kodi/patches/amlogic/kodi-ce-101-add-reboot-from-internal-to-power-menu.patch#L10
https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/5848-8-2-2-3-libreelec-8-2-for-s912/?pageNo=58

I have to add another action command after System.ExecWait("/usr/sbin/rebootfromnand").  (maybe I have to add XBMC.Reboot()  ? not sure yet )

An alternative way would be to edit the related (to power menu) .xml file to include this code, but I cannot find it withing this path :

Addons\skin.eminence.2

In Estuary the file is called DialogButtonMenu.xml

Any help / idea would be appreciated.

p.s. I'm using CoreElec (a minor fork of LibreElec for AmLogic devices)

EDIT:
Nevermind, I found out what to do. Here it is, in case someone else needs it:
- You cannot add more than one action (two or more consecutive actions) within one item by going to "Skin Settings > Miscellaneous > Customise shutdown menu".
- In skins like Eminence 2,  there’s usually no DialogButtonMenu.xml or any other related file to edit that would have the result we want.

You can do what's described here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=227079&pid=2500298#pid2500298

In my case these were the steps:

1) Created an "overrides.xml" file with this content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<overrides>
   <override action="RebootToAndroid">
        <action>System.ExecWait("/usr/sbin/rebootfromnand")</action>
        <action>XBMC.Reboot()</action>
   </override>
</overrides>

2) Copied it within the "userdata" folder
3) Went to "Skin Settings > Miscellaneous > Customise shutdown menu" and added an item with the label "Reboot to Android" and this action (without the quotes): "RebootToAndroid"

That's it. It seems to work fine.

Whoops! I forgot about the change in Leia where Subtitle options have moved to their own menu.
Should be fixed on latest git version. Subtitles button on OSD will now open subtitles menu.
There will be a fix on the repo coming in the next week.
