Unable to connect to Mediaportal TV Server - deepskydiver - 2015-10-05
Hey - I'm long-time Mediaportal user moving to Kodi but wanting to keep the Mediaportal TV Server which I know my way around and so is one less variable I guess.
I have a new Windows 10 VM I've setup to test out before I install a new HTPC.
On that VM I've installed the Mediaportal 1.12 Client (only - no server) to test the Mediaportal Server I have on the network. It connects and works fine.
But when I configure the settings in the add-on in Kodi they don't seem to stick after I submit them. I had the same when I tried installing a local MP TV server too.
I get the message "No PVR clients have been started yet.." when I try to watch live tv and frequently see a popup "Add-on couldn't be loaded. An unknown error has occurred".

Try putting the numerical IP address of the server rather than the name, if you are not already doing so. I found this to be better.
Other than that, this is something that seems to happen at first, and then after restarting Kodi a couple of times it sorts itself out.

Thanks - I am using the IP address as well as trying the server name. No luck with either even after many restarts.
Edit:I just tried a local install of MP's TV Server to see if I could get that working but with no luck.
Kodi is very impressive, my first experience playing with MP2 was a little disappointing. Which is how I came to be here

OK - I'm an idiot.

Despite seeing it initially I had thought it was now all integrated on the Kodi side.
Next I think I need to setup my timeshift buffer..
