Hi, I am not sure what the current status of getting XBMC to work with iTunes 7 is, but perhaps talking to this developer would help get things working again:

How is it that they can still connect to iTunes?
I don't know about anybody else but besides Movies, iTunes was the second most important feature of XBMC, and now that it doesn't support it since iTunes 7 I am extremely frustrated!!

If you have iTunes manage your music folder anyway, why not just set up a smb share and access your music that way? Its virtually the same
Works just fine for me, I don't even notice the difference anymore, just got used to it now.

And if you read the page you linked to, you'll see that the "Connect360" app is the one that handles the sharing of your iTunes library - not iTunes.
There are very few applications at all that actually act as iTunes clients, and none to my knowledge that now function with iTunes7 (including previous versions of iTunes!)

mt-daap runnning from anything will be able to stream to xbox still. At university many people have itune shares, however I just use Firefly media server and OurTunes, untill recently this worked. Does anyone know if a certain group/person is activly working on making a client for daap running from iTunes 7?

The new protocol has not been reverse engineered, and Apple hasn't released the specs, so no progress has been made. Nor is any likely to be made to be honest. Your best bet is requesting that Apple release their specifications.

I know the Xbox can access Itunes (6)... but is there any way to access the music on XBMC from Itunes? That would be much more valuable to me... Thanks!

the only method of accessing files on the xbox is ftp. if itunes supports ftp, then sure, why not.
(this is why its not advisable to keep media on the xbox if you want to share it. there are more ways to share media when they are on your computer.)
