Fast Forward & Rewind in RealMedia (and A/V sync) - derekz - 2004-01-05

(cvs 31-12)
when play .rm files .. forward button dont' function

- Lagoon - 2004-02-17

since last build , rv10+aac works fine, however when ff/rew the sound is staying at the place where i hit ff/rew, doesn't go forth or go back, only the video does.

also an older "bug" (im not sure if this is normal) i can't do a normal forward (minute by minute) on rv10 files ?

edit : another one, xbmc just crash at the end of a rv10 file, dunno why Huh

thanks.

i have no problem fast forward wmv files. however, there was no response when i tried in rmvb files.

- bigv - 2004-02-18

i have same problem. guess it is not supported right now.

- Lagoon - 2004-02-18

yeah it doesn't work.

the fast forward works only at 2x, more than that it crashes, anyway it is useless since the audio get immediately out of sync in a rmvb file Smile

- erpi99 - 2004-02-20

i tried to fast forward when playing rmvb files. there was nothing happen. i have no problem with ffw in wmv files.

any ideas?

- erpi99 - 2004-02-22

nobody tried to fast forward with rm files?

- krack38 - 2004-02-23

hi

i try and fastforward doesn't work

- overdrunk - 2004-03-10

you can't fast forward rm video. if you press the ff button (i used trigger only), xbmc will die in 2 seconds.

- tinyau - 2004-04-01

i have tried cvs as at 2004-03-26 but this problem is still existed, no response other than 2x, but sound is out of sync after resume normal speed.

i hope someone will fix it soon. thanks.

- squisher - 2004-04-20

hi,
fast forwarding in real media files is broken in xbmc release from yesterday. when i fast forward 2x (everything faster than that also seems to only forward 2x), the sound does not get forwarded but instead, when returning to normal 1x speed, the sound is still at the same place it was when ff was turned on (out of sync).
other than that it plays very nicely :-)

thanks a lot!

msg if you need further info.

~squisher

p.s. this is really annoying because my cats like to walk over the controller, start to ff it, make the sound out of sync and then i need to start watching it from the beginning again! Sad

rv10&aac doesn't work properly, choppy video

also xbmc still crash at the end of a rv10 file

using xbox_media_center_2004-04-19_build

- erpi99 - 2004-04-27

the ffw bug has been there for a long time.

- Gamester17 - 2004-04-28

i didn't even know xbmc (or mplayer for that matter) supported rv10? Huh http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/info_project.htm

- Tas11a - 2004-04-29

rv10 is actually very similar to rv9
only the encoding is different (to get better quality video) and add aac audio to replace the atrac3

so you can use rv9 codec to decode rv10, but due to minor different in structure, i think, it crash xbox at the end of each rv10 playback
i can play this rv10 with no crash by demux it and remux back using realmedia analyzer.
but for the audio part, rv10 with aac audio, although xbox support aac, don't know why the playback is choppy, not enough cpu power
