Try something super simple like "Alexa, ask kodi to pause" whilst you have something playing, as it doesn't do anything that uses your library and will let you know if all the bits can talk to each other.

I'm almost just stabbing in the dark at this point. I couldn't get aws to work because my cc didnt got through for several days and eventually went the heroku+caffeine method.
It wasn't till I moved on to the google skill that didn't have heroes that I fixed Cc issue and got aws working for it. Since kodi was working through heroku method I stayed with it

Again nothink. Im trying now to use this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KSlz_lT1k4 tutorial . Any when im deploying stuff to lambda i get this error

You'll need to upload the zip file via S3 instead. Go here:- https://console.aws.amazon.com/s3/home." Any ideas about setup ?

If it's not working at with AWS or Heroku then I would say it's at a different level. Which would be either the Kodi level, Router level, skill level or echo level.
Since you are back on aws I can't help you as mine isnt using aws.

Forget that tutorial, it is very very old and the skill (and the way you set it up) has changed drastically since then.

I got everything working great first time whcih I'm happy with. I found when my library was scraped for the contents of the slots, the generator only returned a maximum of 100 items max for each slot, is that normal, a bug, or did I do something wrong? I have at least 2,500 movies in my Kodi library but only got 100 listed for the MOVIES slot.

Instructions specifically say take the closest of Virginia and Ireland to your location. I'm in Canada so Virginia was my option. But again aws didn't work for me. Now I did get Google assistant working through aws and that's where I used Virginia
