Thanks Basje - Any idea how to do this though? Do I need some sort of a Silverlight codec for XBMC (if that exists at all) like I did for Safari?

No you don't. The problem is that XBMC for Mac and Win32 just can't handle all the different streaming video yet. It's not silverlight at all, it's just a WMV it needs to play. You might try to run XOT as a Script and not plugin, although I don't think that will bring you any further. From the XOT Script version you can very often (not always) view the item using either DVDPlayer or Mplayer from XBMC.

Try is one of the two does work.

OK. Thanks. I'll try to get that going.

Also, thanks for making this XOT-UZG plugin in the first place. Its not easy to get Dutch TV in the UK but I have managed to get XBMC and your plugin going on my Apple TV so we can already watch the public channels on our TV, which is absolutely great!

Hi Bas - I don't get these WMV files to play and by now I don't think its possible to play DRM protected WMVs on an Apple Mac at all. However, if I were to get my hands on an XBOX 360, I would be able to run XBMC and the XOT-UZG plugin on that and get rtlgemist and the other channels streaming properly, right?

Not on a 360 only the old xbox runs xbmc and yes Xot streams properly on the xbox.

It doesn't have anything to do with DRM. Just that streaming does not work 100% on other versions than Xbox and mostly Linux.

I started to use XOT-UZG to be able to view SVT Play material. If I use this service with my browser it's not a problem to search forward but with XOT-UZG I can't do that.

Are there limitations in XBMC or is it possible to add search forward support?

It's a problem of XBMC not XOT. Searching in streams seems to be hard.

download problems - ahendriks2005 - 2009-03-02

Basje,

When I'm on "http://www.rieter.net/uitzendinggemist/"
I click on the link to download the zip version (http://www.rieter.net/ext/?file=XOT-Uzg.v3.2.0b3.zip)

I'm being forwarded to a page saying I'm deep-linking Confused

The text I see is:
Deep-LinkingRieter.net

*
v. Deep-Linking (deep-lĭng-kĭng)
1. Deep-Linking is the placing of a linked object, often an image or file, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site. The second site is said to have an inline link to the site where the object is located. Inline linking is also known as hotlinking, leeching, direct linking or bandwidth theft.
2. Deep-Linking is the act of placing a hyperlink on a Web page that points to a specific page or image within another website, as opposed to linking direct to the main or home page. If you were to link to this article here, that would be considered a deep link.
3. Deep-Linking is often caused by the unavailability of a webclient's referer.

I'm using ubuntu 8.10 with firefox 3.0.6... what's wrongHuh? :confused2:

Waffa Wrote:Try google code
It hasn't got XOT-Uzg.v3.2.0b3.zip
Although, I can find XOT-Uzg.v3.2.0b2.zip over there

Huh

- Waffa - 2009-03-02

You're right it was always there.
Go for Installer Passion-XBMC with this script you can download almost all plugins, scripts and etc.

- ahendriks2005 - 2009-03-02

No scripts for installers for me (not offending Passion-XBMC)... I do not trust them (anymore) and have some very negative experiences with them.

I just want the download of XOT from the official site.. I trust Basje ;-)

- Waffa - 2009-03-02

Huh Never had such an expierence. You don't know what you're missing.

BTW All 3 downloads works fine for me on XOT page.

Problem is your firewall/antivirus that block you referer (the referer tells a webserver from which page the request came). I check the Referer of you request, to prevent people from linking to my donwloads directly (I only have 5GB of bandwith and I am already using 99% of it each month, so I don't want sites linking to my site directly). If you block that, it won't download. Try disabling them and try again.

If you can't get it to work, just send me an e-mail and I will send the file to you!
