I have just tried your method to update libmms, but it doesn't seem to make difference. How can I check at what libmms version my system is? Maybe the update didn't work.

Quote:I recompiled XBMC 10 from scratch with libmms 0.6 support, so XOT-UZG is capable to play RTL/NET5/SBS broadcasts as well.

For the not-faint-at-heart guys, I have created a tar that includes the new recompiled XBMC with libmms 0.6. This XBMC version is not fully tested and is only tested on my XBMC 10 live CD installation. If you want to give it a try, issue the following commands:
Code:

$ cd ~
$ wget http://www.ramondeklein.nl/Download/xbmc-10-with-libmms-0.6.tar.gz
$ sudo tar -xvz -C / -f xbmc-10-with-libmms-0.6.tar.gz
$ rm xbmc-10-with-libmms-0.6.tar.gz
$ sudo reboot

I have only tested it with the original XBMC Live CD (final Dharma release).

Basje Wrote:If it starts playing, it should continue (at least for the Dutch channels, Swedish have SWF verification and sometimes need fixing), so there is something wrong with the caching of your XBMC or perhaps you have an old libmms?

I never have issues here with the Dutch channels, both for Xbox and for Windows.

I have the same issue, RTL will work for 7 to 10 minutes, then buffering every 30 seconds or so to make watching impossible. I just installed XBMC from scratch, including adding the XOT-Uzg repository and adding it through the XBMC interface.

XOT-Uzg.v3 3.2.2
XBMC 10.0 r35648
Mac OS X 10.6.5 on an Intel Mac mini with intel integrated graphics
connected through glassfiber connection, in A'dam

Network speed isn't the issue. I can rewatch the first few minutes of any program and it'll work and start buffering around the same time. Other programs buffer at other times, but all after roughly 10 minutes. All RTL programs. (through iRTL) Regular uitzending gemist stuff works fine.

I'm willing to change settings and try stuff, just let me know what to do and I'll report back.

MD

Execute the following command and check if libmms.so.0.0.2 is mapped to the proper version:
Code:
ls -l /usr/lib/libmms.*

- Jappie17 - 2010-12-28

It looks like its has been updated to the new version, but unfortunately the streams still start buffering after 7/8 minutes.

Code:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 xbmc xbmc    12 2010-12-25 18:29 /usr/lib/libmms.a -> libmms.a-0.6
-rw-r--r-- 1 xbmc xbmc 46480 2010-12-04 23:26 /usr/lib/libmms.a-0.6
-rw-r--r-- 1 xbmc xbmc 44096 2008-05-05 13:22 /usr/lib/libmms.a.orig
lrwxrwxrwx 1 xbmc xbmc    15 2010-12-25 18:29 /usr/lib/libmms.so -> libmms.so.0.0.2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 xbmc xbmc    15 2010-12-25 18:29 /usr/lib/libmms.so.0 -> libmms.so.0.0.2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 xbmc xbmc    19 2010-12-25 18:29 /usr/lib/libmms.so.0.0.2 -> libmms.so.0.0.2-0.6
-rw-r--r-- 1 xbmc xbmc 59144 2010-12-04 23:27 /usr/lib/libmms.so.0.0.2-0.6
-rw-r--r-- 1 xbmc xbmc 42532 2008-05-05 13:22 /usr/lib/libmms.so.0.0.2.orig

- BugBoy - 2010-12-28

Can you give me a sample which channel/program/episode doesn't work? I will check if it works on my system. Without libmms v0.6 it would probably never started :-)

Is there possible to change so that Svt plays "low bitrate stream" by default instead of high bitrate?
Thats would make it even more perfect for us xbox usersBig Grin

Something in the code that can be an easy fix,
Ive tried yesterday to change some parameters but i dont really understand how it works.. And it didnt work of course..

Maybe just a few rows to copy/paste in the svt.py code?

Well, I am not going to change it in the script because on Linux/Windows the high bitrates is much nicer and on Xbox you can use the contextmenu to select the lowbitrate stream. But it's very easy change yourself:

Just open the chn_svt.py and go to line number 277. That line reads:
Code:
def PlayVideoItem(self, item, lowBitrate=False, player="defaultplayer"):
change it to
Code:
def PlayVideoItem(self, item, lowBitrate=True, player="defaultplayer"):
(just replace the False with True)

Then it will play the low bitrate stream by default.

Maybe it's a good idea to put this settings in the addon's settings. A friend of my uses a 3G internet connection and would love to be able to switch to low bandwidth in some cases.

Thank you very much, Basje!!!
Works like a charm!!Big Grin

Yes, that could be possible, but not right now.

When will 3.2.3 be released? Waiting for the fix for 1-2 min shutdown for swedish channels Smile

nos channel not shown - Paddy69 - 2011-01-10

hi Basje,

I installed the add on in an openelec system and it's working fine except nos is not shown i have only 15 channels on the main screen. I know you're probably not using an openelec system but i thought maybe this was a common issue or you've seen it before and hopefully you can give me a way to solve this?

In those two files (chn_nos.py and chn_nossearch.py) remove the import of PROCESS_CREATION_DELAY. It should not be there and is not used.

Thnx Basje. The problem is solved by removeing the line in the file chn_nos.py In the other file I could not find this line and it was working also after I changed the first file.

Grtz Paddy

Swedish TV4 is broken from today, shows just "No files" when entering the channel. Has been working fine until today.
